Hi guys,

Currently doing my AOS (from K1) paperwork, and I have some questions:

1) I got my medical examination done in Spain, and the nurse of the embassy marked my vaccines as complete and gave me a copy of the DS3025. Do I need to go to a civil surgeon and have Parts 1, 2 and 5 of i-693 completed, or not? Is it enough if I add a photocopy of the DS3025?  I keep getting different answers, and the official instructions aren't clear about this.

2) If I file before April, is it necessary to add 2016 taxes as proof for affidavit? My husband hasn't done his taxes yet. Can I just give his 2015 taxes, as he hasn't done 2016 yet, and the letter from his employer saying he works there, or would I get a RFE for that?

3) Advance Parole: what do I write on "intended departure date", "length of trip", "purpose of trip" and "list the countries you intend to visit"? I only want to apply in case there's an emergency, but I don't really intend to travel. Also, do I check "one trip" or "more than one trip"?

4) And finally... Do I pay the biometrics fee on the same check with the AOS fee, or use two different checks? Because I have to pay at the same time as AOS, right??

Thanks!! :)

1. Just send the DS-3025

2. 2015 is the latest tax return for you since you have until April to file 2016. So 2015 is fine, however, they will probably request 2016 later on in the process.

3. You can just make something up, that you for instance plan on visiting your family in your home country a few months down the road. Or don't put anything, USCIS doesn't require a reason for wanting the i-131 when you file for AOS at the same time. Those two (plus EAD) are going hand-in-hand in the eyes of USCIS.

4. You send a check for both i-485 and biometrics in the package. You can put both on the same check, ie $1225 instead of $1140 + $85.

1. agree with Scandi - just DS-3025

2. Many do get rfe for not having 2016 although it technically isn't required. At this point in the process if you state your anticipated income it would be for 2017 and the last taxes would technically be 2015, which would leave a whole tax year.No one will be able to tell you if you will or will not get rfe'd for that

3. I just wrote unknown on all and multiple trips.

4. what she said :D

and also welcome!!! I remember you from the K1 process!! Feel free to msg if you have any questions! and good luck! Glad you got that DS-3025 correct! :D

Thanks Scandi!! :) I will then just send a photocopy of the DS3025 the embassy nurse gave me.

Also, I asked my husband to do his taxes this weekend before I file.

:)

Thanks Suss&Camm! :)

I got my visa in late December, flought here in early January, and we got married on February 14th. :D

Yes, she finally filled my vaccines and marked them as complete, but only after the embassy told her to do so. LOL I do know though, that thanks to the hassle I made :jest:, other people who came after me got theirs done no worries, so yay!

Sudden doubt!!!

When you said "Just send the DS-3025", did you mean a photocopy of the DS-3025 duplicate the nurse gave me, or the original duplicate she gave me?

Thanks!

Always, send a photocopy unless specifically asked otherwise. :) You need to always be able to verify any documentation you have provided USCIS.

Right. I just wasn't sure because technically we have to send an original vaccination record, and a photocopy of it is just a "reminder" that I included one with my embassy medical. I'll send a photocopy then. Thanks! :)

Yes, I understand - I wrote in the cover letter:

- Photocopy of DS-3025 vaccination documentation worksheet showing US vaccination requirements COMPLETE (original submitted at POE with medical documents for A-file)
