Hello, my family and I had our green card interview back in November 2015, unfortunately we were told that my father was refused due to his deportation and that he would have to wait until the ban was over in order to recieve his green card. His ban is over in May 2018. I have been in contact with the embassy and they are saying we must wait for the ban in order to receive our green cards. Also, that they are keeping the case open until then. When I check the CEAC website it says refused for my father and mother and I am under Administrative processing. Is it possible that we will be getting our green card once the ban is over? According to the embassy they are keeping it open. Please If you have any knowledge of this situation, please do not hesitate to respond. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Assuming your father was the beneficiary and you are derivatives then that sounds right.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Yes my father is the beneficiary, and my mother and I are under his case. So if I keep in contact with the embassy our case will remain open until they can finish processing it? Should I be worried that on the CEAC website it says refused next to my fathers?

Thank you for replying.

Very normal, if it says "returned to NVC" then you got a trouble, otherwise you are good to go.
