I looked around on the search best I could, but couldn't find anything relating to this so I'm wondering if anyone can help! :)

Looking to send off our k-1 packet soon (at long last! :) ) Running into an issue with the G-325A form however. Basically, for personal safety reasons my biological father does not have contact with myself or my mother. We have no way of contacting him as we now know nothing about his location etc. This leaves me in a bit of a pickle for the G-325A as it asks for his birth location, and his current location. Neither of which I know. My mother has since remarried, however, we never got around to the adoption thing. So my mothers surname changed, but mine is still of my biological fathers.

So, do I use my biological father for the form, but write unknown for the city of birth and current city, or do I use my stepfather even though there's no legal relationship between us except that he's married to my mother?

Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide!

Indeed, you are not the first nor the last person who doesn't know the whereabouts of your Father.  I am in the same boat.  On my parents current address I just put the City because that is all I know.    Honesty is the best policy here.  Another example, when we filled out the G325-a for my Fiancee we put deceased in the current address for both her parents, since unfortunately that is the case.    Good Luck!!

is that info not on your birth certificate? or can you do obtain official records from the municipality/registrar?

Unfortunately, my birth certificate has no information other than his occupation at the time :/

I've no idea how to go about obtaining records and all I have is his name unfortunately  :/ do you think writing unknown will cause me a problem? Honestly no idea what to do if so, argh!

Ok. Thanks guys!

Should I include a letter explaining why I don't know his whereabouts, or write unknown and leave it at that?

No need to explain why.  The process is complicated enough as it is, don't make it more so. ;)

Other thing I just realised, I have the same issue with his birth date - no idea when it is/how to find out. Would I write unknown for that too?

Also, I've don't have a middle name is it better to write None or N/A for that or leave it blank altogether? On the search, I've seen multiple people say multiple things regarding that
