We married in Alaska. The attorney also told him we can't do it because we just moved out.

I'm fine with it. It's just he wants no connection with me anymore and he was just disappointed after knowing that. And me concerning about no decree to remove the conditions.

Well obviously if you can work it out thats always best; but if he is not wanting to then that's how it is I guess.

Definately would go with the lawyers saying as it sounds correct from what I have understood and read before about marriage in other states. Each one has it's own 'unique' laws and all on it.

Hopefully you can get it sorted out one way or another.

Hello. Can anyone enlighten me on my situation? Not sure what will happen to my application since husband found out that we can't get divorce yet because of the NY residency requirements. You need to be a resident for a year in order to granted divorce. Legal separation is the only option but i dont know if thay helps to remove the condition. If I reallt have a choice Id like to make our relationship work but my husband doesnt want to anymore.

You are gonna have to jump thru many hoops to get your 10 year green card to stay in USA...
