Hello Everyone,

My fiancé was interviewed back in May of 2016. He was given a one year ban. The ban hast been lifted as of January 2017. He has to redo his medical exam and the interview by May 2017. Since March 2016 we have been living together in Mexico City. We opened up a business together and have been doing pretty well. We were uncertain about whether my fiancé would  need to do the interview again, so I didn´t worry much about working in the US and the I-134 form. Now that we know my fiancé has to redo the interview, it´s obvious he needs to take all the documents that he did the first time (right?). So I am worried about how to fill out the form and how to show proof of my income. I am also uncertain about whether my income even matters since I am earning it in a foreign country. Does it count against me or in favor?

All the correspondents in terms of the visa is being sent to my father´s house, we will live with him when we go to the States until we settle down. I have a degree in molecular and cell biology and it´s not too difficult to find employment.

What can I do? Do I return to the States before May?

Is there a way for me to show my income and have it matter even though it is earned in another country?

Has anyone gone through this. Can someone give me some guidance?

Hola Nancy Arellano!  SInce you reside in CDMX it might be prudent to visit the USCIS Field Office at the US Embassy to obtain the information you need in complying with the income requirements in completing the form I-134.  Likewise, you could email them your questions/concerns for clarification and answers to avoid receiving and RFE upon submission of your I-I29 petition.  Buen suerte...

As long as your income will continue when you move to the US you can use that or get a joint sponsor.
