They always take really long on Yemeni beneficiaries, especially when it's a guy. I'm assuming it's because of the extensive background checks they do. I would also say expect a RFE because they pass those out like candy when it's a Yemeni.  Also at this point you should contact a senator or congressman. Whenever we contacted them, the case always seemed to move along.

It seems like it is at a center where it is crowded. I noticed back in 2015 and 2014 that petitions that were sent to California and Texas center were approved faster. People would even say so on here. I also saw on the timelines, processing times on here, and government sites.

My case was approved at the California service center. It took almost three months for approval. I requested an expedite, but it still would've took longer than Americans because it's from Yemen. It's the same for countries where there's a lot of scams or "terrorist" threats.

I remember someone from the Philippines were approved after a month at the California service center. That's why even if the documents are all good people still can take from 5 months to a year because each center is different. They make it seem like they all go to one place. That's what I thought.

I am not sure about it all with Trump now. But if they haven't said there's something wrong with your documents then they haven't reached your case yet or it is in the process of being approved. 8 months is long. They may be looking into it now. Maybe you'll get approved soon. ان شاء الله

An update on this case. My Mom & Dad interviewed on May 31, 2017. My dad status changed from Administrative Processing to Issued on June 14, 2017, yet my mom is still Administrative Processing. That is soo weird, I thought they approved woman faster than men for that review. Anyone else interview recently and is under the Administrative Processing thing?

Really?? Did he have to submit additional paperwork at the day of his interview or was he given the paper that said your case has been approved on the day of interview. My parents received the slip that said case has been approved and to check status on ceac.state.gov.

Maybe it's a little tougher for Males (18-40). I don't know their reasoning but don't they say it usually takes 4-6 weeks for Administrative processing? At this point, he can go and inquire about his case.

From my personal experience, the whole "Administrative Processing" on the ceac site is a bunch of BS. They have to change the status right after the interview, and the only 3 options are "AP"(Administrative Processing) or "Visa Issued." (Or "Visa Denied" but that's not the case here)

They change it to "Visa Issued," only when the visa is printed.

So I believe, and I could be wrong, your moms status will change soon when they print her visa. I don't think they would put your mom through more extensive checks and not your dad. Keep us posted.
