I have a question. NVC emailed me today to choose an embassy for my husband to be interviewed. What do you think is faster, Djibouti or Malaysia?

Ya, I was in Djibouti for six months till I got the refusal letter for my wife. Plus Djibouti is expensive and terrible country to live in. Malaysia and Egypt are both nice and cheap.

Urgent Notice: All immigrant visa classifications for nationals of Yemen, Somalia, Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, and Syria, are subject to Presidential Proclamation 9645.  In accordance with the proclamation, a consular officer will make a determination whether an applicant otherwise eligible for a visa is exempt from the proclamation or, if not, may be eligible for a waiver under the proclamation and therefore issued a waiver.

This is what I got when I emailed the embassy. Am I crazy or are they telling us we have two options. Either the proclamation doesn’t affect you at all or you can get a waiver.

This is what they use to say up until 3 days ago. See the difference?

Urgent Notice: All applicants from Yemen and Somalia should consult a U.S.-barred immigration attorney before applying for a visa in Djibouti. We envision few instances, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation 9645, where Section 212(f) of the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act may be waived for applicants from these countries. All cases refused 212(f) will be preserved until the Supreme Court decision later this year.

This does not say anything new, the consular might look at you and say no without any explanation and go through the waiver process (who knows whats that even mean). Our best hope is to wait until Supreme court decide to appeal this ### law.

I have curious question, do you guys see anyone who got their visa approved in any other embassies other than DJ?

Thoughts on today’s oral arguments at Supreme Court??

It seems that the Supreme Court sided with trump but the final ruling isn't until end of June. Inshallah they will at least make some changes to the ban. If not they should at least fix the waiver program because right now it's a hoax. Ramadan is near so we should hold to our prayers and make dua.

I sent my husband case to NvC on May 9 and it was case complete on June 14 and NVC sent me an email for awaiting an interview in Malaysia. I been reading that they been giving out visas for close family ties. I know a few Yemeni families who got their visa after the ruling.

May 9th or May 29th?

Do they not have to go through the waiver process? Or is every embassy different?
