the dems might make their own wishes come true if they weren't hell bent on denying that is the progressives of any age that have the potential to revamp the democratic agenda to a more liberal and successful stance, not millenials or 'kids' as the established crusty dems want to think.

I agree it was also a poor choice. Late night comedy seems to have made as much fun of the response as they did the speech.

I think even both sides of the ditch can agree Kilary was the worst dem candidate in eons 

 

I will fully concede that given a better candidate Trump would not be President today

they got comfy and went with who they wanted instead of following the party enthusiasm to bernie. but then again, there are plenty of dems who hated bernie and hillary was their first pick. so..i'm with teddy - terrible choices on both sides. but even for me, a long-time hillary-hater, trump was never an option. not even up for discussion.

I can live with that breakdown. I think Trump won solely because he was the anti status quoa guy, as Bernie would have been .

but bernie is actually anti status quo. trump says whatever to get what he wants. potus was his ultimate 'deal'. trump may be able to say he was against the iraq war (he can also say he was for it, but, whatever), but bernie is the one who stood up at the time when everybody else was all 'yellow cake is on the loose'. bernie's cabinet and advisers would not be millionaire ceos. imo, considering bernie has actual experience in washington (while maintaining his spine) he is capable of accomplishing much more than just tearing everything down to tear it down, which is what we've seen from trump so far.
