A question for any UK citizens about the I-29 form

Here's a problem I never thought I'd run into! My fiancé is Scottish, and the forms ask for country of birth/citizenship. Well, he's obviously not a "Scottish Citizen," he's legally British. Is it ok to answer Scotland, UK  or Scotland (UK) under "Country of birth, citizenship, residence," etc, on these forms? I know USCIS are picky and can send your forms back to you for any minor detail overlooked, so this is probably stressing me out more than it should. I just couldn't find an answer anywhere online!

does he have a Scottish passport?

Use the official name of the country -United Kingdom. I know he probably feels strongly about his Scottish identity, but Scotland is not a country.

He is a subject of the United Kingdom, except when it comes to the 6-Nations Rugby and other sporting events especially football, then the passion and ability to drink make it known they are Scottish.

Ask him about the Welsh and their sheep :devil::jest:

I beg to differ.

OP, I just checked what I put on my form when I filled it in. For country of birth, I put Scotland and for country of citizenship, I put United Kingdom. Our petition was approved without any RFE'S and I received my visa last month.

I'm from Scotland and I totally agree with this. Scotland is a country, albeit a part of the United Kingdom as a whole. We are UK citizens but we are from Scotland, so either way I assume would be fine :)
