W-2 Tax Statement???

This is a great forum.  I am retired from the military and I receive my pay from the VA.  The VA payments are not taxed.  Here is the question of the day:  In this case what do I send to USCIS for tax purposes?  We both don't work and therefore don't have W-2 statements.  When I was in school there was a form that you can request from the IRS which states that they don't have information for that tax year.  Should I just send in benefits letter from the VA site?

You'll need to provide SOMETHING to show what you make every year.  If you send in your benefits letter and your tax transcripts, you should be fine.  If you are not required to file taxes, then you need to explain that, too.

Alright, Sukie.  Thank you for your response.  I'll have the benefits letter ready and the form from the IRS that states we don't pay tax on our VA benefit.
