I know what you mean Wally. Everyone who knows me knows not to bother calling me on Sunday morning cause I won't talk to them until after 10 lol. I won't go to the official website cause it is too far ahead of the programming here and I don't want to know what is going to happen. I better be able to get that once I move to VA else I will be really upset.

I will admit to missing the somewhat less nationally biased coverage of CBS during the olympics, but other that that I haven't missed Canadian TV one bit!

wow, guess I'm lucky...we get CBC via Winnipeg...I thought they had way better Olympic coverage then the other stations here...and so glad I didn't have to break my typical Sunday morning Coronation Street tradition.

I find it interesting that you can get ExpressVu in Florida. The way the satellites are positioned, I was thinking that it would be too below the horizon by the time you got to Florida. People have told me that it starts fading out by about Tennessee or so.

But we have Expressvu in the US.. We just have the bill sent to our cottage address and use the phone number there. But you're right, as long as they get paid, they don't care. You can't get anything sent to a US address, so that story about the stuff showing up in Canada is probably an urban legend.

However, you won't be able to make any changes in programming or be able to even call to set it up as you can't call their number in the US. If you have problems in the signal, you can't do anything about it. So there are some difficulties in doing it.

You are confusing the satellite position and the footprint. ExpresVu is broadcast from the Nimiq 1,2, & 3 satellites, which are in geo-synchronous oribt at 91 degrees W and 82 degrees W. So, in fact, in southern Florida, the satellites are higher on the horizon than anywhere in Canada. However, since the satellites are designed to broadcast in Canada, southern Florida is outside the footprint. If you want to use ExpressVu in the US in the coastal or southern areas, you should consider buying a 24 inch dish. Star Choice, which is broadcast from the Anik F1 & F2 satellites, and has more powerful transponders & a larger footprint in the US, is probably a better choice for the US gray market customers.

(Note: The footprint is the geographical area in which the satellite may comminicate.)

I miss Trailer Park Boys and Red Green. I had to buy the DVD's.. no way Im shelling for Express Vu to watch Marketplace.. Canadian TV is a disaster overall. So few channels relatively.. Whats there is good but there isnt the variety.

Reba, unless you are moving like to Buffalo, theres no Canadian TV lol.
