I am the petitioner for my wife, the beneficiary, who will be interviewed for a CR-1 visa hopefully within the next few months. Can I be with her in her interview? Is there any part of the process at the consulate where I am not allowed to participate?

Hi. If the interview is gonna be at the embassy in Palermo, Buenos Aires then I don't see why they would not allow you. When I had my K1 visa interview (a few years ago), my then bf (now husband) could not go with me but inside the waiting room for other interviews there were a few ladies that were there with their USC boyfriends/ fiances for support. It's not mandatory but it does not hurt if you are there with her.

Thanks, so I can be with her throughout the whole process, like while she is being interviewed too?

When I went to the embassy for my interview (K1 visa), there were other ladies there that came with their USC boyfriends /fiances to attend the interview together. They were allowed to go in the embassy as they are US citizens.

You can always contact the buenos aires embassy and ask them to make sure there wont be any problem that you atttend with your wife. Which I dont think there will any inconvenient. If you attend that day with her, bring your american passport / ID.

I had my K1 interview a week ago. My fiance (petitioner) was there with me and our kids during the interview. It was short and sweet. We got approved but I forgot my original birth certificate at home and got a rejection letter. I felt so dumb, but consul said everything was good and to submit the birth certificate directly to the embassy. I did that the same day we had the interview.

I checked CAES to see the status and we were on "admin process" for a few days, then it went to "ready", "admin process" and finally "ISSUED" on Friday.

We are so very happy. :) Good luck!
