My husband will soon go to his consular interview in Ciudad Juarez.  I originally had thought that we would fly from Chicago to Mexico (either Guadalajara or

Mexico City) and then take a flight to Ciudad Juarez.  I know flying to El Paso would be much cheaper but how safe is it to go from El Paso to Ciudad Juarez?

I have seen some posts in the past regarding transportation but have not seen any recent posts.  What options do I have and how safe would it be?  Even

though I have traveled throughout Mexico and have used taxis in Mexico in the past this is a different situation.  Any suggestions on my options would be

appreciated.  Thanks!

Hola Elguero5. In coordinating and making your travel plans, seriously take into consideration as to where you've elected to have DHL forward his passport with his Immigration Visa. Is it vital to factor that into your travel planning.  If you choose to wait in Ciudad Juarez for delivery receipt and pick-up, consider that into your planning.  We use this web-linn to research flight itinerary options =  https://www.google.com/flights/.  In researching accommodation options, ask whether they offer/provide meet and pick-up at either the El Paso, Tx, and/or Cuidad Juarez airports.  If they do not, ask if they could recommend a safe secure livery option to their hotel.  I encourage you to complete your VJ timeline so that each of us that contributes information to assist you understands and knows where you are in your Immigration Visa process. Buen suerte!

I flew to El Paso, i took a taxi, I paid about $70 from the airport to the consulate area, that was in 2015. One of my friends went to El Paso too, he went last year, he took an Uber ride from El Paso airport to the hotel in Mexico, Uber was cheaper than the taxi I took. Regarding the hotel pick up at the Ciudad Juarez airport, that is not possible, according to a hotel employee, due to some union agreements between the airport and the taxi drivers.

Hello I would recommend flying into El Paso and taking a taxi/ shuttle across the border. Check out these two companies. http://www.juarezelpasoshuttle.com/ or http://www.amigoshuttle.info/

Thank you so much for the information.  His interview has not been scheduled yet. Our lawyer submitted the DS-260 information online last week but from what I understand the paperwork has to be sent normal mail.  I am unsure how long it will take for the NVC to review everything.  I was told that DS-260 paperwork can take up to 60 days to review.  Is that right?  I have tried to calculate approximate interview date (maybe early June?) taking into account DS-260 approval and 30-60 day notice before the interview.  I have scheduled three weeks off from work in June so I am hoping the interview falls within those weeks.  Where I work you can't just take vacation whenever you want so if the interview does not take place in the weeks I have scheduled off I will either need to try and change the interview date or beg and plead to my boss and hope that an exception can be made.

Document organization

My husband will (hopefully soon) have his interview in CDJ. I will be taking all the required documents and also pictures, cards, etc. to show we have a valid marriage. How should everything be organized so he can easily and quickly access what is being asked for by the immigration officer? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

My advice is it is better to have the paperwork and not need it than to need the paperwork and not have it.  My wife was in CDJ a few years ago for the K1 visa.  She even had a copy of everything in case the officer wanted to keep something.  Watch out for the people that hang around the office wanting to "help" you.  They even have official looking badges...the end of the day they are just trying to take your money.

Check out these you tube videos the American Consulate produced for Ciudad Juarez.  There are many other videos you can review.

God bless
