We received notice about 5:00am EST today that our case was received at our local office on February 27, 2018.  My husband (beneficiary) called USCIS and they said he’s still within processing times and VSC is currently working on January 2017 filers. He told them March and April are getting approved and she had nothing to say about that. He called back to ask for a Tier 2 (he forgot to ask the first time) and she refused to transfer him because he’s still in the timeframe for processing.  Not that it’s an issue, but we just don’t feel like going through the interview process. We’ve had a nightmare immigration experience when we filed a previous petition and we were denied. Not to mention, our local office doesn’t have a timeline for processing I-751 so we can’t get a proper timeline. They’re processing the I-485 from April 17, 2017; N-400 Naturalization from August 1, 2017 and N-600 Certificate of Citizenship from June 16, 2017 and these are all dates as of December 31, 2017!!  How are we to determine what’s a normal processing time at this point?  We’re really hoping this transfer isn’t pushing back our timeline for approval.  Good Luck everyone.

But then again there is still no official announcement from their website. I will not assumed until they have official announcement about this transfers chaos!

Tier1 and Tier2 officer can also see what we can see online. So it useless to ask them, unless you want to make them a service request about your case. LOL!

So I see this on my case status today. Just as a recap - I was on the phone with a tier 2 agent today asking what the transfer to local office meant. The agent I spoke to said they will email CSC for an update on my case. I guess my request has been forwarded to the CSC ( I hope) and that's what I'm seeing here. The history also shows my address change request from last week being approved.

Just got off the phone with a uscis representative, probably tire 1, and they told us that the case was probably moved because we are going to be called in for a interview or they are missing something. So they might sent a RFE soon. Not sure what this is about :-s.Didn’t give us other details. Fingers cross & god bless

I don't think they have deep knowledge of what's going on. USCIS can't mass schedule ROC applicants for interview like this. Tier 1 officers have no knowledge of the current situation than you do. More so, AOS is now taking around one year to get interview.

Wouldn't interviews happen a few months after the documents were sent? Isn't it weird most, if not all, applicants that had their documents in California are getting an RFE or interview now? I hope our local centers will review our cases one last time and approve us. Last time I got my RFE about 2 months after I sent my documents for AOS.

I wish I could rely on past cases BUT, due to this weird situation I can expect anything from them.

I dont think they would interview every one from csc and vcs ... they not sure what are they saying... I don't think they wait almost a year to sent a rfe

I guess local offices are now saddled with adjudicating the applications to clear the backlog at both service centers. They can't schedule anyone for interview without first sending out RFE. Interview for ROC will even create another backlog locally. So, there would not necessarily be an interview in my own opinion.

This is gonna sound dumb, for the N-400, for those who used prong fasteners to bind their app together (thus requiring you to holepunch):

did you put it through the marriage certificate and N400 application? I'm worried about punching a hole through the evidence and the application itself. I know some people did this for i-751.

You can buy paper protector and don't need a hole punch.

Aloha everyone. I'm new to the group, (been a silent follower since I discovered this) and so I have a question, I hope someone can help. I did file my I-751 last March 2017, am I able to apply for naturalization while this process is still pending? Or do I need to wait for my GC?

Also I tried to get a I-551 stamp from our local office here, but the lady said since my original GC had an expiration date of 04/22/17 it's still good until 04/22/18 so she didn't gave me a stamp. Is that okay? I just wanted to get one just in case there is an emergency back at home and I would need to fly at once you know.
