Just checked the mail and received NOA1 from VSC extending status for a year as expected. It's dated March 8, one day after the package was delivered and two days before the checks actually showed as cashed in our bank account. Just in time for my green card expiring this Thursday.

Please note that I'm not suggesting you leave it to the last week like I did, but I'm posting this as a sort of counter to the general feeling here on VJ that if you don't mail your petition the first day your window opens USCIS is going to set it on fire and deport you. :D There could always be problems with mail delivery and mistakes on the checks or petition, so it's always prudent to do things early. You'll also be done sooner. The thing is, this should be obvious but filing the first day vs. the last week will absolutely not make a difference to USCIS. I just can't understand some of the threads on here and the people stressing out about not being able to mail it the first day (and repeating false information like 'USCIS doesn't like it if you don't do this!') or being so impatient they file one day too early and get it sent back to them. We've gone through so much already, and we're going to be waiting for like a year regardless. Let's not stress out so much!

The N-400 I'm definitely going to try and have ready around the beginning of my filing window in December, after I do some research about filing with ROC pending.

Congrats!! Our package was signed for on Friday the 10th, still haven't cashed the check ? But big storm here today.

Well based on post above it took someone a few days to get NOA 1 from Vermont. I would recommend calling.......

If you're referring to me, I haven't received the NOA1, just the USPS delivery confirmation. I remember the biometrics appointment for the AOS taking about a month and a half after sending my application. Given that it's going to take over a year to get the I-751 processed, I would say there's no need to worry or be concerned that biometrics hasn't been scheduled.

When was it actually delivered? If you *mailed* it March 9 (Thursday) it's too early to panic, even tomorrow. I assume at the very earliest it would have been delivered Friday. There was a weekend in the middle and it's only Monday.

Give it a couple days. Even in the worst case scenario if there's anything wrong with the check or a signature missing and it gets returned, it will show that you tried to file on time. Keep an eye on it but don't panic.

I mailed it in the afternoon on Thursday, March 9th but didn't request signature as I didn't know you could do that. So, I guess I'm not sure if it has been delivered or not. Check still hasn't been cashed. Will likely give them a call tomorrow just to make sure it was at least received. Is there a specific number to call for the I-751 or is it just the standard 1 (800) 375-5283 USCIS phone number? Thanks for the help!
