^^^ This.  The actual process is virtually nothing, and should really be almost automated... but because there is barely anyone else actually employed to do it (after all they don't want to make it easy for us, even thought it only takes around 60-70 of us to pay one of their salaries).

They could easily implement electronic filing, where all information is directly entered into their central system, linked to your other interactions with them, and so on.

Signature could either be Electronic, or have them go into a notary who can do electronic signature, to verify identity. So many easy options.

Then all you need is a human to review some basic indicators, and flag the suspicious cases, and enter RFE requests.

OK thanks for the input. Did anyone here get a definitive answer at biometrics appt? (As in...you're approved...we'll be sending the GC...or...you'll be receiving a letter about an interview)?

My wife's English is pretty good, but she could have missed a word like "You MAY have to do an interview". They didn't let me enter with her to find out,  unfortunately.

I asked them, and they basically said we'll find out when it happens. And I'm a native english speaker.

Get an infopass for the i-551 stamp on your passport. The i-551 serves as green card for another year while your ROC is still pending.

Here's the link: https://my.uscis.gov/appointment

Bring your expired extension letter and green card, passport and biometrics appointment on the day of your appointment.

That looks like a year and 6 months for CSC to process. looks like we'll need a second extension just for it to process and most of us will be eligible for citizenship before our Greencards are even renewed...

Are they going to stamp right at the office? I tried to get an info pass, but my local uscis areout of appointment dates, can I just walk in?

Also, I checked my case statues and it only said they have received my case but did not said it's processing time,

my service center is CSC

Based on what I read on other members here, you can walk in if there's an urgency that you need to get a stamp, like travelling internationally, getting a new job that requires you to provide the current status, those are valid reasons for you to do walk in and request for a I-551 stamp, but if there's no urgency then you have to wait for the availability, if you're more concerned about your status, don't worry, your LPR status is in effect with or without the i-551 stamp since you have pending application (i-751) with USCIS.

Hope this helps and clarifies.
