Does anyone know what happens if there is no update from the CSC after the year extension is up?

You can get an I-551 stamp on your passport by visiting your local field office if you intended to travel or need an evidence. The expiration of the extension letter doesn't effect your ROC process. Some people do get the stamp some don't it's up to the individuals.

Hi guys,

We have a question and I hope you guys can help us. My wife (non-us) works 60 miles away from were we live. She got a really good job/good position. She has been commuting for the last year and a half 3-4 hours a day. Waiking up at 4-4:30am and coming back home late at night. I have a sister in the area that my wife works and sometime she crashed at her place, but we don't want to overstay our welcome to her house. If we rent a room/studio close to the work where she can crashe these days she has to work late. And if I am not on the application ( my credit is not that good, it won't help us in getting a room/studio), do we need to change our address on our ROC? Or do we need to send USCIS any additional information regarding that rental?

Hope you guys can help.

thanks

Yes you do you need to fill in an Ar11 and an i-865, ,sponsors change of address. You can do the AR11 online  I had problems with it, so I changed my address with a tier 2 officer, then I filled an AR11 in manually then my husband being my sponsor had to fill in an i-865. I wouldn't let them why you are not on the rental agreement, I would wait and see if you get an rfe

When we moved out from our old apartment and rent a new one, my spouse (USC) did not file the I-865, but I did file the AR-11 to change my address and I did that after I got my 2 year conditional card since we moved in to our new apartment after I got my 2 year conditional card. When I filed my ROC this year, all of my mail correspondents were properly sent to our current address. Not sure if my spouse (USC) needs to file the I-865. Does I-865 applies only for the people who's moving out from old  to new address with pending application on USCIS?

As far as I know it applies to moving address, you shouldnt need to do one if you are at the same address that you sent your application. I didn't even know there was an i-865 form, until someone on visa journey pointed it out to me.  Thank God they did, I don't want to get into trouble for not changing my address and such properly, in other words I don't want it to bite me in the a"" later down the line. Not saying it will but at least I have all bases covered.  https://www.uscis.gov/i-865

Thanks, I will inform my spouse once I got home, does your USC spouse provided evidence for the i-865? I'm checking the instructions and did not find any list of evidence that we can attach to the i-865 form.

No as far as I know he just filled in the form, sent it and sent it with tracking.  A few days later he received a confirmation from them.

Our address when I applied for AOS is different when I applied for ROC but its the same state just different city. I did changed my address and filed the AR-11 when we moved in to our new apartment which is our current address now, but my US citizen spouse did not file for i-865, does he need to file I-865?

One question everyone since our thread is already on fire today....

I keep reading that they are currently processing our cases but what exactly are we all waiting FOR?  My wife believes to have understood that we will have to do an interview.  I mean, after biometrics,  it's either a) receive green card or b) do interview........right? Or am I missing something?   Thanks

My understanding for most is. Wait an inordinate amount of time for them to push paper from desk to desk. Then green card magically arrives in the mail, while a smaller amount will get interviews.. more than likely if they are from countries that are not NZ/UK/Aus etc... i.e. higher risk places. Though with all the political climate it will likely take longer than ever with Government departments being defunded, staff not getting replaced etc DHS and other parts that deal with this are chronically understaffed right now...

You are waiting for an agent to actually physically input your file into their system, review the evidence, and based on their procedures, to make a decision on wether the file is complete (if not, RFE), if the case is obviously OK (GC Processing) or if the case raises red flags (Interview).

The outcomes you listed cannot happen without a person processing your actual file. And that is the part we're waiting for.

I doubt the whole processing takes more than 20min.

^^^ This.  The actual process is virtually nothing, and should really be almost automated... but because there is barely anyone else actually employed to do it (after all they don't want to make it easy for us, even thought it only takes around 60-70 of us to pay one of their salaries).
