Its a lot less stressful than the first time around that's for sure.  Normally I head down to TJ every few weeks from here in SD, I sure won't be doing it for the few months after my physical greencard expires even if I have a NOA that gives me approval, it just don't trust ICE at the port of entry, especially after the executive order shenanigans of the current government. I'm just glad that this part of it is reasonably straight forward, if not a complete and utter waste of time (a 2nd round of biometrics ... honestly, i'm pretty sure my eyes and fingerprints haven't changed in two years) and massive inconvenience.  Fingers crossed that things don't get slowed down with all the messing with other aspects of immigration/hiring stoppages in public sector/removal of expedited H1-bs etc going on.

I completely agree. It does all seem a waste of time. My husband and I would've liked to head up to Canada to visit his family this year, same as we did last year, but decided against it. Too much insanity going on to risk it. Especially considering last year when we came back to the US, the officer seemed hesitant to let us back in. Not a nice feeling.

Definitely understand the feeling! I think after NOA1 you have to worry a little while longer about the biometrics, but after that we can forget about it for a long time. If you're still in NC like your profile says I think we'll be stuck together at VSC for a long time. When the time comes we can look into naturalizing with ROC pending (though hopefully not, hahaha).

Hahaha, yep, we will be stuck together for, what is it now, 1 year+? I'm counting on ROC still being at VSC when N400 is sent off. The whole process is slow as molasses.

Yeah, this is the only part that bothers me. I'm sure under different circumstances it would have been safe, but given the way things are right now I don't think I'll be leaving the country with an expired green card plus the extension notice if I can avoid it, and why I'd like to naturalize ASAP.

Had it been under different circumstances, I probably wouldn't naturalise, but with the anti foreigner bigotry (I've literally run into Neo Nazis down here in SD who have come down from Anaheim and Temecula last weekend) and had a friend who is a US Citizen of Mexican descent detained at a checkpoint near Calexico this morning - I honestly I don't trust the state, and will Naturalise as soon as possible, regardless of the tax implications. That is if I actually end up staying here long term (I'm lucky that by 2020 I'll be eligible for NZ, UK (already have) + USA and Maltese citizenship!

Good to see familiar faces from the April 2014 group. This part was stressful for us too....but not near as stressful as the first time. Just relieved our package is off & should be received tomorrow. The waiting will suck tho, we have another Canadian friend who sent theirs in July & the only thing they received is a letter stating she was allowed to stay in the US another year, that's it. I'll just have to forget about it for awhile.....just thankful every day my hubby is here. ❤

I completely understand. It's a very rough time and we're all understandably scared (and we're not even from the countries that are getting the brunt of it). I hope we can all get through the process as soon as possible.

S. & A. !! Yes indeed, good ol' VSC!! ?? definitely good to be in the company of others during this process. So funny at our interview in Montreal I saw a man I recognized from Visa Journey (& he I) & we sat with him during the wait & then he later walked us to a good diner in Montreal!  I'm a bit worried about the current administration, but must remain positive.

Hi guys, little update. I filed first of March, CSC, it was received on the second and on the 6th I received the NOA 1.

Just today I received the biometrics appointment. I am pretty sure I am jinxing it by writing the following, so therefore first let me write the official disclaimer: DON'T WANT TO JINX IT !!!

But so far it has been very fast and smooth. I realize that until after biometrics everything moves rather quickly and then the big waiting begins. But still I am very grateful so far that within less than 2 weeks, I already am at this stage.

Good luck to all !!!!
