Hello @flash9153, Did you apply for your N-400 in March ? If so, did you do it online or via mail ? That explains as to why your case was transferred to NBC.

Yes we did apply for N-400 (biggest mistake, as I am learning from others, because certain offices do not allow a dual interview). Anybody contemplating to file N-400 with pending I-751, please refrain yourselves! I know people have fast tracked their N-400 process in the past by applying early, but that has significantly changed in recent months.

That being said, I didn't realize that the I-751 cases were transferred to National Benefits Center due to N-400. I'd be interested to know if other applicants who filed N-400 with pending CSC I-751 also had their case transferred to that location. Maybe USCIS picked a specific location for dual processing...who knows!

Most of the cases (N400 with I751) that I read got transferred to NBC and had dual interviews.

Interesting. The Chicago thread had multiple denials on the day of the interview due to pending I-751, even when their spouse was present. The reason they gave was that they only had a few officers who can adjudicate I-751, and they wouldn't do it because of how busy they were. I wonder if this a Chicago only thing.

Interesting. I'm shocked they got denied to have the interview.. So what did they do afterwards?  There were similar cases that I read, but they still had their N400 interview but a decision cannot be made right away because of the pending i751

That's ridiculous. They can't just take the money and deny the applicant because they are too busy.

According to USCIS Policy Manual:

2. Spouses with Pending Petitions and Naturalization Applications

An application for naturalization may not be approved if there is a pending petition for removal of conditions. If an applicant’s petition to remove conditions is pending at the time of filing or is filed prior to the interview, USCIS will adjudicate the petition to remove conditions prior to or concurrently with the adjudication of the naturalization application. [6]

[6] notes is important.  Not sure why Chicago office is like that

@adnanhashmi What is your NOA1 date ? Also, was your case transferred to a local field office ?

@flash9153 Did you have your N-400 interview already ? I presume you already applied for your N-400

I did filed n400 and my ROC is still pending. Mine was transferred to Nebrsaka. This whole immigration process is stressing me and I just wanna give up already.

Its suppose to be our right and privilege to be able to apply for citizenship on our 3rd year anniversary of our original GC date of issuance. A privilege from all our hard work, patience, honesty and money we gave on our immigration process from the start of K1 visa. Unlike those who came using other visa category we sure was one of those who've been spending a lot of time and money to assure we all are legit of our purpose of coming here. We've been a lot already and being eligible to file the n400 meant we are free from all those paperworks we've been working for the past years. It wasn't our fault if the ROC was so backlogged because before we filed it was still on the right track. 12 months was the maximum processing time.

When I got my passport stamp they told me I shouldn't have applied for n400 since ROC is still pending. N400 case will be closed if it will not be touched after a year it has been filed because of pending ROC and that would mean I have to reapply and pay all the fees again. It's frustrating.

Just an update from my end. Late March 2017 CSC filer here. My case never moved to any local office nor did I ever hear from USCIS on anything to do with my case until this morning the DHS website shows my case approved and card being mailed to me. I have a USCIS letter coming in from USPS as well. I know from lurking around on this thread to look for the statue of liberty through the scanned images for an approval and I see that so thank you guys! :jest:

I had not filed for my N 400. Decided to wait it out. I hope everyone gets their approvals soon. I know this wait is brutal but there's light at the end of this tunnel!

Congrats!! Now I started seeing CSC filers whose case hasn't been transferred are being approved, I wonder what's going on with the local officers that received the transferred cases.
