Ok... thank you for your quick answer... still no updates here :(

do you have an account on the USCIS website? if you do make sure to type in the receipt number that is on your extension letter to receive new updates.

I have two accounts and I put both receipts numbers there... still nothing

And now 3 days without approvals.

I was thinking the other day how many cases they processed... we had only few reports here of wrong dates on GC and they sent over 8000... cards with the error. Wow.

yeah I have 2 accounts too, in USCIS and at USCISDHS, they both updated my case. and I have read that they sent out 8kplus green cards with error. that sucks a lot! if they transferred your case to another service center you have more chance of your case being looked at and being approved. Anyways hope you hear from them real soon, and good luck.

Ok!! So USCIS called me back about the 8K cards recall after I emailed and said I couldn't give them evidence since I didn't have a tracking number or a card.

The woman very kindly sent me a screenshot of her end that showed there was no tracking number. She said normally, on your USCIS case status (not the DHS one), there should be a tracking number. Since my update did not have one, I was part of the pack whose cards were stopped right before it was mailed out. So all I have to do is send a copy of the letter that said my card was recalled and a copy of that screenshot.

Furthermore, she said there is a special team working on the 8K+ cards, as of last week, they said they got about 6K+ recalls, so they think they should be starting production on Tuesday.

I am still waiting on an update/decision from USCIS. They received my response to the RFE on April 3rd, but I haven't heard anything since.

I guess all this stiff with the recalled cards may be part of the reason why it's taking so long to hear back.

The problem is, my GC/GC extension will expire in just over a week (6/6) and therefore my driver's license will also expire on the same day...

Does anyone have experience with this? Were you able to get a new DL without having your new GC yet?

Also, I would like to go ahead and book tickets to fly home later this summer, but I am not sure if it's a good idea to do that until I have my new GC.

Any advice would be appreciated!

You can get the I-551 stamp on your passport and travel on that. You could renew your driver's license too. You need to call the helpline regarding your RFE because they will be able to update you on your case.

I never received my card. I was very confused and an officer I talked to on the phone said maybe just go file for an i90. This was before I got the note stating that I was one of the 8k+ cards that were being recalled.

I just checked my status update, they have received my application and 4 days later, another status update stated that I do not have to show up for a biometrics appointment as they can reuse my old biometrics!

Here is the link: https://www.uscis.gov/i-90

Just remember (I think it's either at the beginning or at the end), if you never received your green card, choose that as the reason.

I was hoping they’d use my hubby’s old biometrics, but like everything it’s never easy & they scheduled another biometrics 6-12. They also want info supporting that we never received the first incorrect green card because they want it back, but we really don’t have much. I feel we are doing the biometrics again why is it necessary to send screenshots of tracking from the usps showing it never left MO?

Yes you should send screenshots of tracking showing it never left MO. When I was talking to the USCIS officer, she told me to do that but I told her that I never even got the tracking number in the first place so she had to screen shot something from her end. I would send the photocopy of the letter for recall and mail the screenshot! Do it asap as the 20 days is up soon!

Did you ever get a letter that you were one of the recalled cards? I wonder what's going on with that because you and I are on similar timelines and mine was part of the recall.

Woohoo, finally good news. I went to check my case status on the USCIS website today and it was finally updated: "On May 30, 2018, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number XXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us."

Good luck to everyone that is still waiting!
