Welp, I'm back. Same issue on card recall, only problem is the GC holder (my husband) is out of the country with it and won't return until way after the 20 days recall period. Beautiful. I called USCIS and asked about what he should do at the airport when he returns and he said just to explain the situation to CBP about recall. USCIS also said that if we send the card back outside of the 20 day period (which we will), it will cause "significant delays" in getting a new card. Just when I thought I was done with this!!

Thank you! I found this for Feb 2017 Fliers, Part II regarding NSC:

Oh jeez, I’m so sorry, but at least we are not alone right? 🤦🏻‍♀️  My hubby’s new job has a HR woman who doesn’t believe all of this because she married a British man a million years ago 🤣🤣 & didn’t go through such nonsense for immigration. It’s truly unbelievable if you aren’t living it. 4 years of immigration  (7 years together) & still going through major stress, so many couples would have given up....Shows how strong we are right??? Wishing you a speedy answer & your proper card!!! 😊

boosbear, that really sucks, I'm sorry. I'm not part of the limbo but I am part of the early April faulty green card batch.

I was sooo excited and relieved to get my GC and then I just rage quit everything when I saw it was wrong (they put our approval date in place of our resident since date, which really sucks because the N-400 specifically asks for this date on the card and now it looked like I'd only been living here for a month and didn't qualify!). Not only that, but the process to replace it seemed to be taking like a year and in some cases interfering with naturalization. Sigh. Turns out the people that set out to correct the mistake early are also in another sort of limbo with this recall thing now because they already sent the card elsewhere.

I'm getting the recall notice/envelope in the mail today. At least I have a card to send I guess. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly for everyone and we can be done with this soon.

See, this is messed up. They should have records of the old card and paperwork proving how long he's been a resident. Same deal for us. A screw up on USCIS printing shouldn't affect N400! So mad about it.

Im part of the bad batch of green cards except mine was never mailed out. The uscis site says it was but the uscis officer told me that their screen shows it wasnt mailed out and there was conflicting information.

So i went to the uscis field office in boston today again to get another i551 stamp since they gave me a 30 day one and it was expiring. They were going to give me ANOTHER 30 day one but i said “the uscis officer on the phone said it could take up to 90 days”. Then he wss like “oh he did? Ok ill give you 90 days”. I should have just said 6 months!!

he told me to keep checking and calling uscis about the card and pestering them, soi called right after and they told me there was conflicting information about whether my card was mailed out so i am now waiting for a call back from tier 2.

i need a drink.

You'd think they would, but :rolleyes: when I looked this up there were a few horror stories of people getting to the end of the naturalization process and the officer being like "lol sorry you haven't been living here long enough according to this system"... I was so defeated I haven't even sent in the application yet. The fact that there is a generalized recall makes me feel more hopeful that the records will be corrected and taken care of and this won't be a problem. I absolutely didn't want to sent a scan of the card with the wrong date, and while I still have my 2-year GC that didn't seem right either being that I've been approved for months.

I'm waiting eagerly for the recall notice/envelope in the mail today but want to be done with this and send in the N-400 like yesterday.

I think we’ve all been drinking since this nightmare happened! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Soooo today we went for an emergency infopass walk in appointment because hubby’s employer is still giving him a hard time. Tier 2 told us to ask for an emergency appointment to get the stamp because everything we hold in our possession from USCIS is expired. At first they gave us a bit of difficulty, but I think my sweet talking helped to get us in. 🤣The officer stated this nightmare has affected 8,356 green card holders & their lives. We explained the letter & that they’re asking for a card back that was never mailed & he said he was able to see that indeed, it never left Missouri where the cards are produced so they probably halted production mid April (when they said our card was mailed) because they finally realized after 2 months of errors that the cards were wrong. He said it MAY or MAY NOT arrive, but if it does (& even if we get a new one in the meantime) to send the incorrect one back even if the 20 day grace period to mail it back passes. He said the new cards (because over 8,000 people were affected) could take up to a year!  Seriously?!! So what he did for us today was stamp my hubby’s passport for a full year & added a hand written note under the stamp that his green card was produced incorrectly.  He said this way if he travels or needs his photo ID it will all be on the passport because the way things are seemingly turning out his new greencard could take a year.  We are relieved to have this year stamp, we wish it was his greencard, but we’ll take some peace of mind at this point.

I’m sorry this is so wordy it’s been a long day. Everyone hang in there, I share your pain & frustration & know we aren’t alone in this mess.

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words. Its so cool how we are all strangers but we understand each others frustration regarding this immigration journey,  more than any one else could. Someday soon it will be our turn to hear the happy news. Remembering the first days of our immigration journey, I would see ROC &N 400 applicants forum and would be like whoa, thats so far away but here we all are. Thanks to all of you who keep encouraging, supporting, sharing. Blessings🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼
