Unfortunately just had limited funds, my spouse lost his job and hospital bills. Things add up quickly.

As ruchit12 said, it was received only last Friday so it's normal that it'll take a couple more days. I didn't know you could track if a money order has been cashed. If your petition was accepted they probably sent the NOA Monday or yesterday at the earliest, and you'll receive it probably this week. If for any reason it doesn't get accepted (forgot a signature, etc) they will still put a received date on it plus you likely have proof it was initially delivered there 3/17, so everything is fine. Don't panic. It's still early and I don't think you can call anyone to speed things up, unless you receive nothing for another week or so.

Filing 3 weeks before GC expiration is not late. Sure, filing early prevents worrying at the last minute like OP is doing, but there's absolutely no *need* to file the first day or even the first week of the window like you'd guess from reading VJ. No need to add more paranoia to an already stressful process...

In a similar but worse situation. My wife's green card expires on Friday. We sent the package on 3/9 (CSC). We meant to send it much earlier but she unexpectedly had to return home for a family emergency but she has been back since 3/8. $680 check cashed on 3/15. Still nothing in the mail. Checked with all of my neighbors as well. I called the USCIS yesterday and was told there is nothing that they can help me with until thirty days have passed after the check being cashed. The USCIS representative told me that since the check was cashed we are in good shape but no guarantees.

Anyone know what will happen if we don't receive the NOA and my wife is in the US with an expired green card? We definitely both signed the I-751, provided the correct amount of money on the check which has been cashed, and provided many pieces of evidence.

You did send the documents on time, so as long as they payment was the correct amount and the form was filled out and signed you should be ok. Not sure how long it takes to send a NOA but maybe they have a lot of applications and are a bit slower. I know it's easy to say but try to stay calm and keep us updated.

You'll be fine. Your check has been cashed, which means your petition was accepted. You have proof of this. Sometimes NOAs get lost or delayed in the mail. I think I saw one person on the February thread who needed to follow up with them a couple of times until they resent a copy of the NOA because they never got the first one.

The only thing I think you could do if you're really worried is to make an InfoPass appointment and ask someone in person, but from what I read I don't think they'll be able to do much for you and I don't think they'd stamp her passport for this. Other than that, you could print out a copy of the form and the proof you have that it was received if you really want your wife to have some sort of proof of her status until you manage to get a copy of the NOA.

Even if you don't do anything, she should be fine as long as she doesn't have to leave the country. It's not like she's going to have her extension letter on her at all times when she receives it anyway...

Sent my package in on TUE 03/21, my GC expires FRI 03/24. Hope it makes it in time

And now the endless wait starts...

Not sure if this has been addressed, but can you file the N-400 if your RoC is still pending, seeing there are several people with pending cases over a year old?

I haven't looked into it that much yet, but I believe you can. I don't think there's a lot of info yet (even from their side) because this has only recently become an issue with all the ROC delays. I read that it supposedly forces your ROC to be adjudicated, but I don't know if that means you get to cut the line or what.

I'm sure we'll see a lot of people that filed ROC last year trying to file the N-400 in the coming months, and I bet things will change as the volume of N-400 filers with ROC pending increases. You and I can file in December. Evidence needed for a standard case is pretty much the same as for ROC + 2017 financials (plus some of our USC spouse's documents), so other than taking a look at the form and instructions we can wait and I think there will be a lot more info by then.

NOA1 has date printed on it. It's generally couple days earlier date than the date when your cash is checked. You can't check that date anywhere online.
