I had an inquery before I got the approval, and I got an email saying that they were working on my inquiry, found out my card was sent on 4/11. I received the approval letter (dated 4/10) on 4/16, but not the card... just wondering if it’s normal :(

my USCIS check status does not show my card is mailed either.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Online updates is not always reliable. They mailed my card on 4/12, I also received the approval letter few days letter. So to me it sounds normal. My letter says I should get it within 60 day. USCIS online status says I should receive it before April 27.

we are nervous about the "resident since" date on the new GC LOL

I received my card and it says resident since 04/05/2018 ....should it be since 05/07/15  date of my first gc?

Or is this okay?

As some of you may have read, as a CSC filer, I was not expecting a response for another few months, but after the "weird" late FEB 2018 transfers, I got a bunch of mails and TXT messages saying my case got transferred on APR 16.

The NOA for that notice arrived in the mail today, and guess what...

SENDER: USCIS POTOMAC SERVICE CENTER (Arlington, VA)

Notice Type: TRANSFER NOTICE

"In order TO SPEED UP PROCESSING, your case has been transferred to:

CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER, Laguna Miguel"

So, I have NO clue what's going on here... Are they storing ALL the I-751s off-site to have them safe, and then transport them in batches to CSC for processing?

Why is USCIS sending me a letter from Arlington, VA? Or is that what happened with the FEB 2018 transfers? I sent my initial packet to CSC back in MAR 2017, so no clue why it's being transferred there now, as it should have been there for over a year!

Since the 16th, I've received more mails and TXTs regarding transfers, so if there are more letters coming in next week, will keep you updated...

*SIGH*

You need to contact USCIS as soon as possible. It is incorrect and needs to be fixed. Many applicants reported the same exact problem lately.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Since CSC is backlogged and they have transferred a lot of cases recently. I hope its a good sign. You might be approved sooner, regards.

Yeah,

I think this may give us CSC filers some idea about the workings behind the scenes...

As we send in our case to VSC or CSC, does that mean they actually stay there in storage, or are they transported somewhere else?

What was that FEB 2018 transfer about?

How come Arlington VA is now sending me a message of transfer (back?) to CSC?

It's almost intriguing enough for a novel :D

CSC and VSC process cases based on the applicant's jurisdiction. In some cases, they transfer the cases to NBC and Texas service center if they are backlogged. The cases are stored at CSC or VSC. These facilities have estimated 800 to 1000 employees working.  In February this year, USCIS transferred many cases to the local field office, NBC, and Texas service center to adjudicate them because they were heavily backlogged. Some applicants cases were not transferred but still got the notification because USCIS has been working on a new system. If someone case is officially transferred they will get a notice my mail. Your case was transferred so you got a mail which is a very good thing. You will hear from them sooner than later.

USCIS does share the burden among CSC and VSC time to time to process cases and balance the burden of applications. In your case, I think your case might have been sent to Arlington first and then later sent to CSC but honestly, at this stage, all I can do is speculate but I will not give you a wrong theory to confuse you :D Fingers cross you get approved soon and then you will update us. It will clarify so many things. USCIS is strange in many things so don't be surprised if tomorrow they send your case to Washington D. C Lollzzzzzz. We all can write books on our immigration journeys. Have a great rest of your journey, regards.
