The EAD part in very weird indeed. But the important thing is it also says your green card is arriving. That most likely will be your 10 year green card. Congratulations!

Seems weird to me too. Hoping for the best. Thanks a lot.

everyday its another issue with USCIS so I received my 10 year card yesterday finally after approval on march 14 however now the residence date is march 14 2018 when it should've been backdated to reflect the original date I became a resident. Now im not sure the impact this might have on N400 interview when I do go if I don't have the card as ill have to send in the 10 year card when I file I-90 to fix the error

the day on your 2-yrs gc is the date you became us resident

Hi, this is absolutely ridiculous but you are not the only one with this problem. There are few other applicants on the VJ who reported the same problem.

it will backdate, lets try this way, if you lost your current green card, and you apply for replacement, the new card you receive will have a new start date on it, most likely

if it backdates, then your card would only have 7 or 8 years on it, if that happens, i guess you would complain why they only grant you 7 or 8 years, not 10 years

but thats not how it works my friend has a green card that did expire he got in 1975 and he got a replacement in 2015 and it shows resident since 1975 however it expires in 2025 so again its their own policy as to how it should be.

Hi everyone, so another week week passes & nothing so we called USCIS today. He said the estimated time is 21-46 months for I-751. 46 months!??? My husband’s Canadian passport expired & we had to send it back to Canada, me forgetting to make a copy of his visa which is in there & having a greencard with expires 4-28 I’m really starting to freak out. He told me on 3-4-18 they transferred it from VSC to our local RI office. Is this normal? Forgive me for asking, but I thought they were all done in Vermont or Cali?  I don’t want to make an appointment because reading some threads stating they took the expired greencard & right now it’s his only form of ID. Any advice is appreciated. Should we make the appointment or wait until 4-28 gets closer. He also told me no RFE was showing, just the transferring here to RI. When I check the USCIS site it says that the RI local office is currently working on June 2014!!!! Why wouldn’t they just keep us in Vermont??

Hi there,  I understand your frustration but don't you get worried I believe you will get a response pretty soon since you are a VSC applicant. Don't believe in everything the USCIS helpline tells you they always provide contrasting and ambiguous information. The local transfer office notification is glitch mostly and doesn't have any impact on your case. If they ever transfer your case to a different office they will send you a notice by mail. I would suggest just wait and schedule an infopass appointment at the end of this month and they might give you an update on the case. They can not take the GC from you until or unless you get the I-551 stamp on this passport and again some office will confiscate the GC some won't. There is a lot of inconsistency and discrepancy among the USCIS field offices. Do you know when your husband will get his new passport? If you get the new passport and still not approved schedule an infopass appointment and they will stamp his passport with I-551 stamp which is the proof of his U.S residency.

Thank you so much, you are always helping us all & I truly appreciate you easing my worries. We are thinking with Canadian time frames the new passport will be here mid May & his greencard expires 4-28.....we didn’t realize his passport was expiring & everything happened at once.

You are welcome. There is nothing to worry and everything will be fine. Immigration is a pretty complex procedure. When you get his passport and still not approved you can get the I-551 stamp on his passport which also serves as a GC. You can also look into naturalization to say goodbye to USCIS forever Lollzzz
