Yes, your appointment has to be in the 30d before expiration, is what the agent told me

Good morning everyone! Hope we hear some good news this week for people that are not approved yet from VSC.  I got hired yesterday, they are doing some background checks now. My extension letter expires late may, if I don't get approved by then do I need to get an I-551 stamp for work? I'm not planning on traveling.

Well they said if you didn’t hear by 3-28 to send an inquiry & this is the reply I got. So frustrated. 😢 my husband’s extension letter will expire 4-28-18.

I would get a infopass appointment and get I-551 ASAP.

Congratulations! I'm sure it's true. My case changed the other day on the USCIS page that they recieved my RFE,  a day later DHS account updated.

 Try sending the inquiry through the DHS website. We did it through that website, and they accepted  the inquiry.

Which date did you put for the filing date, the original one a year ago or the one when they transferred the case to the local office?

Thanks for the congrats! Any thoughts on how much time usually passes between the notification online and GC in hand? Seems like some folks don't even get the paper approval--just the GC!

They go by the expiration date on your GC. The letter extends your GC to one year. You can get the I-551 stamp on your passport few weeks or a week before your GC expiration. Hope you get your approval pretty soon, regards.

Congratulations my friend. I would say 2 weeks minimum you would most probably get your GC. It might take up to a month. Enjoy your GC approval

Okay, yeah I knew that. GC expires late may. Thank you, I hope so too that way I don't have to get an I-551 stamp

Some office will stamp your passport a month before expiration. It depends on the office and it also depends on the circumstance you need the stamp. Just go to your local field office and tell them Boy has sent me and they will give you the stamp without any issue

I used "did not receive notice by mail". My case was updated a month ago saying "if you do not receive a mail by March 28th 2018, submit an inquiry and select "did not receive notice by mail" "

Thank you we are in the exact same boat time frame wise. I sent the inquiry & they said we’d hear by April 19....which is sooner than his green card expires on 4-28, so that’s something. Here’s to all of us still waiting. Thanks for your help, I totally hit the wrong inquiry earlier. 🤦🏻‍♀️
