I spoke to both TIER 1 and TIER 2 agents and both confirmed that it is a glitch and not to go with the 1st receipt number that generates the "case was received at the local office" until there has been an official announcement of workload transfer from USCIS website.

So, there you go. Waiting game resumes once again.

I'm at a point where I don't believe anything until I get it in the mail. Everyone is saying something completely different in every Filers thread on VJ. It's clear USCIS doesn't give talking points to customer service, so they kinda say whatever they want just based on the info they have.

agreed, usually they will send letter informing the applicant the case was transferred and USCIS do official announcement on their website.

I am also of the opinion this whole transfer thing is a system glitch. Well, it made all of us excited for a moment :D I am just focusing on the naturalization. I have almost lost all interest in the I-751.

So will start they processing your naturalization file without the approve green card?

I have not filed for naturalization yet but would do in about 2 weeks. When you file for naturalization with a pending I-751 they combine both applications together and take interview one after another on the same day. You get approved for I-751 on the day of your N-400 interview but you will never receive a 10 year GC.

What makes this whole ordeal really painful is that we have so little information, thanks to irresponsible way USCIS is working, we are looking for hope in these online updates, which, looks to me, have no meaning in real world.

We are trying to analyse a misbehaving software here!

Sorry to say it, but king is naked, and only way to know wether our case is closer to being approved is through official USCIS letters.

My case is still saying recieved on 27th, but my prediction is it will say 6th March tomorrow, and this will probably happen again next week when USCIS decides to play some more with us.

I think we should all write to our representatives in congress and request an inquiry, I already did! And dont worry you can do it even if you are not a US citizen!

I couldn't agree more. It is an irony that they keep us in dark and don't give us an update. Any information they give is most of the times meaningless and contradicts with their own statements. They way they go about their customer service is like we have paid nothing and they are doing us a big favor by picking up our call. What makes me mad is when they are rude to you and misbehave in such an unprofessional manner.

My wife got an I-551 temp stamp today at the Minneapolis USCIS office. Her I-751 date is March 13th, 2017 so we were quite stressed about her being on an 'expired' visa. Also, she is pregnant so emotions are already running at an all-time high haha!

Anyways, the process was quite simple. Our appointment was at 8 AM. We got there ten minutes early. We had to go through security and then signed in with a receptionist. We told him that we were hoping to get a status check on our case and an I-551 stamp. We got to talk to an agent almost exactly at 8 AM. She was fantastic and got us the stamp within 20 minutes. She then took a photocopy of my wife's green card and had the card destroyed . She also did basic biometrics like fingerprints and a quick photo at her desk.

As for the status check, she didn't have much information for us, unfortunately. She said that it will likely take two years from the I-751 date to get a decision and that the CSC site is very backed up as we all know. We were also told that we could get another I-551 stamp next year if need be as long as we come in 90 days before the I-551 expires.

Just thought that I would pass along the experience. Let me know if you have questions! Also, there doesn't seem to be much talk about getting the I-551 in here. What is everyone else doing?
