Am I allowed to use a highlighter or circle the things that the USCIS officer is supposed to notice? This may seem like a stupid question but since we can add mail received at the same address, we were thinking of including invoices of orders made that were delivered here. Can I highlight the date or circle it? Do they only accept black and white papers?

I used a variety of color and B&W photocopying.

Every time my name appeared on a document I highlighted it in orange. I highlighted my spouses name in yellow. Anything particularly important got highlighted in pink.

I didn't highlight or circle anything.  I'm sure they are used to looking for what they need on documents, evidences, and forms.

I used highlighter on my documents but not the official forms. I figured they'd appreciate me pointing out the relevant entries on say a bank statement rather than them having to spend ages going through it line by line.

After I saw this picture one day I never highlight anything. Of course it depends on particular brand of highlighter and scanner, but why to risk.

Surely the don't scan the I-751 evidence. If they do, it'll take them all week to scan my file.

You'd be surprised. Maybe it's why they take so long

 

At my work we just got done scanning in tons of huge files. Tons of work, but it means everything is saved electronically and harder to lose. Some scanners are really fast. It may be why they request no staples too.

Oh dear no staples missed that one in the list of things not to do.  Ah well be a year or so before they even  find them. ;(
