SSN but no card

Hi

 

I got my SSN not long after I applied back in November (by going back into the SSA office and requesting it), however have never received my card - I remember reading somewhere that this could be due to the AOS/EAD process, does anyone have experience with this or is it more likely lost in the post?

 

Came in on K-1 visa, currently waiting on AOS/EAD/AP filed in December

SSN has nothing to do with AOS. You should have receive it within 2 weeks of applying. I also got it within 2 weeks. If you didnt receive , I would recommend you to go to office and ask for SSN card.

it can take longer then 2 weeks if they need to verify things. I was told they had to verify immigration status even though we brought the green card but since a system was down they could not do it right away and I received the card a bit over 3 weeks after we went there.
