It's kinda like when both ends of the opposite spectrum meet there tends to be some common ground. I think most people who were Bernie supporters that did or said they would vote for Trump were simply looking for something different. I voted for Bernie for that reason, but I couldn't make the leap to Trump.

see i totally think trump talks like a politician. he lies like a phenomenal politician, with such stamina. just, nonstop twistin and turnin.

Yeah, I'm not saying these were "true" Bernie supporters(like the other 80% are) that had a deep committment to his beliefs kind of like our friend Val...But there were people who liked both for the stuff that they do have in common and couldn't care less if one is a socialist or one is a billionaire.

Well I also agree he talks like one now as per my previous comment on this thread which is why I used "talked". But even if you consider him talking like one even before the elections, to some though, he's not a politician, just like to some Sanders isn't, and that's something they share in common that some people apparently appreciate in both.

anyone who thinks or thought sanders isn't a politician is an imbecile. he had like 15 years in congress before becoming a senator. bernie sticks out cause he doesn't incessantly lie, and he has a spine and he actually uses it to stay upright. the idea that an outsider can disassemble establishment and simultaneously have the establishment work like a well oiled machine for their agenda is also quite stupid. i guess this trump/bernie connection will never ever make sense to me.

Only because Trump prefers to constantly praise himself in the third person on Twitter. Haters liked to see narcissism in Obamas' cool self confidence but except for perhaps every ruling member of NK's Kim family the world has never seen such a true narcissist like Donald Trump. Except previously you said that anything that is misleading is the equivalent of fake.

 

If you fact check his speech you will find most of what he says is "misleading" or "mostly true". So technically wasn't his speech all full of fake statements?

 

It's interesting what you consider "One of the best speeches ever". Was the presentation of the award for Best Picture this year one of the "best award presentations ever"? Is The Human Centipede one of the "best movies ever"?

You should post the other stuff. This makes it look like they couldn't find any substance in what was said. And you're right on: Haters gonna hate. Obama is no longer president and they are still trying to find fault in him. 

 

The one thing I disagree is that when Regan was inaugurated he already had a plan and a story to tell the American people in how he was going to get us there. Trump still has a lot of hot air. It's disappointing that he is so unprepared for the job.

Well of course he is a politician, no one is denying that. Burlington City Hall where he served as Mayor 30 years ago is about two blocks up the shop from us(so is his office...wanna swap spots val ;)). But to many(and even what you said aligns with that) he doesn't act or talk like one. To them Trump doesn't either although you of course disagree with that. Other than that there's the other connections I mentioned. On a personal level I like Bernie and I've actually seen him several times around here in our short time here because they don't believe in body guards in this area lol(I got to meet and shake the governor's hand within less than 6 months of living here lol). I always said that while I disagree with many of his policies, I appreciate the way he handles himself like a grown man should. I also am not saying every Bernie supporter switched to Trump(obviously) - my PCP is genuinely probably one of the most intelligent people I have ever met and she's a big long time Bernie fan(before most people even knew who he was nationally). And she is very much anti Trump. So there's some of everything.

No I would consider Mlk speech on the mall the best ever. I have a dream and all  Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall was epic.

 

Trump's was in that league

What about responding to the fact that you just previously in the same thread said that anything misleading is "fake" and yet most of what Trump said was misleading? He didn't flat out lie, but the things he said weren't 100% truths. By your own judgment that means most of his speech was "fake". Interesting that a fake speech is considered one of the best ever.

CNN, you would assume, would try their hardest to say that Trump is lying but even they report most of what he said was either "mostly true" or "true but misleading".

 

So by your own statement, all of those statements since they weren't 100% true were all "fake".
