@emchappie I personally haven't been applying but I read on here under the December 2016 filers that if you are searching and applying for job before your EAD comes you should answer "yes" to that question which I feel is appropriate owing to the fact that your case is being adjudicated, if eventually the firm calls for interview you can show them your NOA and explain to them. if they want to keep the job for you they will. hope this helps. good luck.

I can tell you what my international student advisor told me right before I applied for my EAD for OPT. Yes, say you're are. You can't take the job unti you have the card in your hand, but nobody will even look at your application unless you're authorized to work here. Hiring proces takes anywhere from few weeks to couple of months, by then you should have your EAD. 

They also ask about the time when you can start, just guesstimate when will you have your card. And if you get the job offer and won't have a card for another week or so just communicate with employer you can't start for another week or however long you're expecting to wait. If they're willing to wait that's great, if now you'll have to look for something else. As long as you're not working without work permit you're not doing anything illegal. I applied to my job before had the EAD in my hand and they just waited for my email saying I finally have it :)

@atuegwu @Kalciaa thanks for the responses! :) I actually went ahead and applied for a job today, and have already been contacted to schedule an interview, but now I'm kinda scared that they just won't even be interested because I don't even know when i'll get my EAD (espcially not considering most people aren't even getting their in the 3 month window going by the timelines)

04/05/17: NOA e-notifcation of I-130 (but no notifications of any other application)

04/11/17: Received hardcopies of all 4 NOAs in the mail

04/29/17: Received biometrics appointment letter

05/12/17: Biometrics appointment

05/09/2017:Case updated to "Request for Initial Evidence mailed"

05/12/2017: Received RFIE 

05/24/2017: Sent RFIE evidence to USCIS

Finally!!! receive an email today saiying all my files has been acepted!!! i was very worryed for no having any update  since i send my REF, now wait for the biometric apoiment!!

Of course, i sen the RFE on april 13th and they receive it on the 17th, but not was till today that i receive the email and apear on the USCIS system
