i have a kinda weird question, but has anyone been looking at applying for jobs ready for as soon as they get their EAD?

if so, when you fill out online applications and it says 'are you authorized to work in the united states' have you been saying yes?

I can tell you what my international student advisor told me right before I applied for my EAD for OPT. Yes, say you're are. You can't take the job unti you have the card in your hand, but nobody will even look at your application unless you're authorized to work here. Hiring proces takes anywhere from few weeks to couple of months, by then you should have your EAD

They also ask about the time when you can start, just guesstimate when will you have your card. And if you get the job offer and won't have a card for another week or so just communicate with employer you can't start for another week or however long you're expecting to wait. If they're willing to wait that's great, if now you'll have to look for something else. As long as you're not working without work permit you're not doing anything illegal. I applied to my job before had the EAD in my hand and they just waited for my email saying I finally have it :)

good luck!

Greetings,

I am new here and would like to share some information with this community. I also am from Iran and under this new administration, people from my country maybe impacted by delays, denials, extended background checks and simply never ending bureaucratic loops. There is a very opaque program runs jointly by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) called CAARP (Controlled Application Review and Resolution Program). This program will target people from Middle East, North Africa and those from other Islamic country, irrespective of individual's religious affiliation. This will make a 1-2 month biometric  timeframe into 1-2 years (sometimes more) protracted process that delays individual's Adjustment of Status or Citizenship petition.

(01-07-2013) I-130 Sent (Under F2A because spouse was LPR).

Only time will tell. How long has he been here and how long you too have been married, of course if you don't mind me asking, lol!

Also your USCIS field office has a great bearing on time-frame. In some jurisdiction it would take long time to be scheduled for an interview.

By the way what RFIE they needed for his Shenasnameh (Birth Certificate). Did you send them a copy of front page in Persian? or just translation?

He has been here since 2014 on F1, and we got married in January after dating for almost two years. Someone on VisaJourney from our field office recently went from application to green card in 4 months, so I am hopeful, but of course they were from a country with a better relationship to the US!

The RFIE says we just sent the translation, but we sent the copy of the page with his birth information and a certified translation   At our InfoPass the agent said the person processing our application just didn't know what a shenasnameh was. So we sent the same documents along with a printout of the Iran Reciprocity Schedule from travel.state.gov as requested in the RFIE :)

Hope they won't do that to mine. I added a sticky note to my Shenasnameh copy stating its name and that Iranian use it as birth certificate that contains name and place and date of birth. But you never know, I might get RFIE.

To all those who have had RFIEs,

Approximately how long was it between your RFIE response being delivered (according to Fedex/UPS/USPS tracking) and the case tracker being updated to say response received???

Thanks in advance!!!

p.s. Still annoyed that I got an RFIE asking for a copy of marriage certificate given that I sent a certified copy with the original packet!!! That's better than a photocopy!!!
