So weird...yours got a case number in 8 days while we submitted our packets way before you did and still nothing.  Did you hire an attorney?  Just curious, because I didn't.  As far as I can tell, all my paperwork is correct, all forms are up to date and the checks are all correct.  So I have no idea what's the hold up.

No we didnt hired an attorney either, i did it all myself. When you mailed your packet and when you tracked it online did you see the name of the receptionist that received your packet in the chicago office.

Yes, I did. I double checked it several times before I sent it out. The only 3 things that I didn't include is the form I-130A (I sent out the G-325A), the 4 photos (I only attached 3), and the paystubs of my husband and my co-sponsor. In case they return the package back to me, if it's not because of these 3 reasons, then it's because I must have made some mistakes on the forms such as checking the wrong box or missing information.

I have a feeling like if a packet is missing information or something is missing, then they "punish/penalize" you and put it in a pile where they will deal with it in 30 days.  I checked all the boxes and forms.  The only thing I didn't do is submit a copy of the I-864 for my step-daughter.  I included the AOS for both my spouse and her daughter but only submitted 1 I-864 for both of them.  So I'm thinking because maybe they need one for my daughter, they penalize us and they send it to a pile where some intern's job is to make copies of it and then submit it with the main packet.  That's all I can think of and of course it's all speculation.

That is so weird. You are 2 weeks or more ahead of us mailing your packet. You have a whole copy  of your mailed packet? Can you review it if your missed something?

Time to get the tinfoil hats out!!! Lol.

Doing that wouldn't only be extremely inefficient, but also totally unorganized and silly.

I understand that the wait times are a huge pain, but we all know that there is a big backlog in Chicago. People from December are still waiting for their EAD's. And don't start comparing one case to another. Everyone knows that it's not a first come first served base that USCIS works by.

To those waiting for their NOA's and have been waiting for about 3 weeks. I highly suggest taking your mind off of VJ for a week. It'll work wonders not going crazy over something you have no control over anyway. Mail barely ever gets lost so don't freak out.

I did make copies of all the forms that's why I don't mind resubmitting it.  I have triple checked all the forms and boxes and I am not missing anything.  The only thing is I didn't make a copy of the I-864 for my step-daughter but did for my spouse and it was included in the whole packet and clearly labelled.  I heard some people didn't include it with their child's paperwork since she's only 7 years old, so I don't think that's it, but I could be wrong.

Dont need to resubmit.Give it another week or 2 since you also have a K2 in your application too Thats the only thing i can think of, maybe im wrong too.

But im hoping that sooner you will get a response.

This is a very nice forum here so we can exchange ideas and update each other.

Good luck to all of us. Keep us posted.

I have the same issue and according to my own research online and after consulting with my lawyer, this shouldn't be a big issue as a lot of people have more than 1 A number.Could you please give me the uscis number so that I can call them and ask about it.

Hi! This is the USCIS # 1-800-375-5283 that I called. I ask him if this will affect the processing and he said it should not bec its on their side to correct. So i guess we are good. Just making sure everything is ok :)

If, and only if, that is the case, then we still have some hope since they're gonna process it anyway. Just sooner or later. I've seen someone got his/her texts/messages on the 22nd day, so let's cross our fingers for us and for those who are still waiting.

01/09/2011 - Arrived United States

11/15/2012 - Officially dated my husband

11/30/2015 - Got married

03/15/2017 - AOS package sent but got rejected

04/22/2017 - AOS package re-sent

04/24/2017 - AOS package delivered at USCIS, Chicago

05/12/2017 - Text/Email Receipt received (1 text, 1 email) for I-130

05/13/2017 - Received I-797C for I-485/I-765/I-131 in mail (USCIS couldn't find my record for I-130 approval)

05/15/2017 - Check cashed (I-130)

05/19/2017 - Received NOA1 for I-130

05/20/2017 - Resubmitted I-485/I-765/I-131

05/22/2017 - I-485 delivered at Chicago P.O. Box

To everyone of us who haven't heard anything from USCIS especially our dear @Pinkielicious, @Denis & San etc, I still urge you all to be strong and positive, I can imagine your anxiety and frustration, keep encouraging each other and most of all do not compare cases as all are different. If after 30 days nothing happened, you may call the USCIS. Best of luck. I always have you on prayers.

To those who got notification like @MsGee congratulations and good luck as you step into another phase of waiting for biometrics etc.

To those who got RFIE/RFE like @raini7 I can imagine how bad you feel about that but I think it is something you can contact someone from your home country to help you get and sent before the days given elapses. Good luck.

Let's keep encouraging each other and stay positive as we hope for the best. Good luck folks.

@KimberleyVDB just basedon my experienced before incase USCIS denied that they received your packet or any RFE's your sending to them you have a proof that you mailed it and they did received it. So it won't hurt if you keep a copy of your online tracking receipt.Thats only my opinion.
