I have a question regarding the Biometrics appointment: I have to use my passport as my ID but it's the one with my maiden name. I applied for AOS with my new last name. Am I good if I take my marriage certificate with me?

I don't have a Georgia driver's license yet...

I'll be in the same situation as you. My lawyer's advice is to bring the marriage certificate aside from passport.

I checked my case in uscis apps today and it was updated on 30 March and said they have sent request for initial evidence for i-485. Dont know what is it abt. Kinda worried :(

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm on the same boat as you. I received the email on March 27th and I just got the actual notice on the 31st. For four days I felt I was in a limbo for not knowing what they want but just like what our fellow members here advised me don't stress too much about it. Just look on the positive side, at least it's just a request, not a rejection.

What I also did was I stopped thinking about my case, I lessened my visit here temporarily, stopped reading anything about immigration and got busy with other things and they helped me so much.

You'll be okay, things will be okay.

I sincerely wish encourage our dear folks who have got RFIE/RFE because of one thing or the other, it is no fault of yours, do not blame yourself because stuffs about immigration and the forms thereof can not be completely understood by anyone. Stay positive and strong. It is even good it is coming this soon because when we go through some older months' threads, the RFIE/RFE comes later in the process, months into the endless wait. Good luck folks.

Sorry about the RFIE. Just to be sure, read the instructions on the same pages where you download the forms to see what documents/evidence you have to send with the forms

I guess I will receive an RFE anytime soon...I don't have a status update saying USCIS sent one to me but I'm sure I receive one. And I already know why 🙈🙈🙈

Oh okay. I guess if you have an idea what they might ask for prepare it already so that you'll be able to send it right away.

For my case, even my lawyer was clueless before we received the actual notice.
Good luck! I'm hoping that this time your AOS will go through.

Hi Soft, it was the new supplemental form for I-130 which is the I-130A. My lawyer was not aware of it when USCIS began implementing it last week of February. My i-130/AOS packet was sent first week of March.
I really hope that this is the last RFE we get.

Thank you. Yep, comparing my timeline to other timelines esp. when  I got temporary suspension due to the RFIE was stressful.

I just got RFIE on my online status.. I was expecting it.. So our story is that Me and My U.s citizen Wife are doctors, but we still don't have a licence here, we studied Medical school in our home country , but my wife's family are all here in the US.. She came back here after our engagement , 1 and a half year ago..and She started working a part time job while preparing for her exam and waiting for my K1 visa .. So when we sent the papers , her sister was the only sponser, because my wife didn't file taxes before.. And we didn't explain that, her income was only around $10k , but her sister's income is more than enough.. We sent her 2016-2015-2014 taxes

So sorry to hear this Rose, at least you have an idea what they might be asking so you can already start preparing it now.
Hang in there.
