Why should you have an RFE already?! It's not like they had a lot of time looking at your application. Of course you will get a status update saying RFE is issued but that doesn't mean you should have it already. You received your NOA1 so all that this means is that they verified that thy got your application and put it in the system. That doesn't mean that someone already actually went through every single paper checking whether it's correct and complete.  You can get an RFE still at day 80 or 90 (happened to a lot of December AOS Filers). Right now a lot of people receive the RFE letters right after the biometrics appointment letter though so maybe you get it soon.

Well...the documents are ready to be send out.

I just wait and see..

Questions: It looks like that my Service Center is the NBC. Does that mean that they will process my applications?

I have to go to the Application Support Center. Anyone who has been there? I thought I would have to go to the Field Office in Atlanta...

Is it possible to give someone my missing documents for the I-864?

ASC's are where you go to get your biometrics taken. They don't actually process much paperwork beyond that and I-90's really.

Your actual processing center will be the NBC or your closest field office, not the application support center.

That makes sense.

Is there a way to find out who processes my case?

The appointment letter says that the Service Center is the NBC.

That I don't know. I actually asked that today because my NOA'a also all say NBC. I asked directly if they can find out for me and I was told they have no way of looking it up. So I assume you also can't give them any additional documents.

Would you really feel comfortable giving someone your documents who has to transfer them to a national benefit center in another state (apart from the fact that I highly doubt that's possible)?! If those were immigration officers you were dealing with (the ones you talk to at an infopass appointment) I would understand it but the people at the biometrics appointment are from Homeland Security and are NOT immigration officers. They can barely answer any questions you might have (mine didn't even know what a I-765 form is and that it grants me permission to work... longer story).

what you can do is: Make a copy of your NOA1 and send the documents to the benefit centers RFE adress immediately. That's what I did (although I didn't know that your I485 adress is not the same as the RFE adress so the USCIS hotline as always gave me wrong info so I'm sure I could've prevented the RFE entirely if I had submitted it to the right adress). So before I even received my paper RFE and had answered to the RFE  the status in the app had already changed to "We received your requested missing documents on March XY and continue working on your case..." because my other documents I had sent two weeks earlier had reached my application. Instead of losing weeks, I lost 4 days (maybe would've lost none if I have had the right adress but who knows).

Although I think that you (if you get at an RFE at all) will get your RFE paper very soon, because the February and March Filers all got their RFE within their first six weeks so you might be better off to just wait now. I had sent my missing papers the same day that I got my NOA1, that's why I didn't really lose time.

If you applied to I765 and I131, they will be taken care of at NBC

I485 initial stages are taken care of at NBC too, they are the ones who look at your file and make sure everything is there before they forward it to your field office in Atlanta. Also, keep in mind that interview waivers can be given at anytime during the process and you might not have to attend an interview.

The best way to go with USCIS is to just do what they ask you, send missing documents if that's the case, and don't try  taking any shortcuts.

You won't be allowed to know who is actually processing your case because, that simply does not matter.

Try to relax and be patient, and you'll see that this process will be much smoother.

Is that only true of people who came in on fiance visas, and thus were presumably exposed to extensive screening and interviewing already, or does this apply to people like me, for instance, who came in on a different visa and then are applying for FBAS?

I know and also read that some people who came to the US on a K1 visa did not have to have an interview because of the K1 visa interview at the US embassy in their home country.

Not sure if that applies to other visa categories too.
