Greeting,

God willing I will have my interview this coming Jan 24, 2018 and I have a question regarding drivers license.

I currently live in the state of Florida but have license from state of New Mexico. I also have my EAD so I can apply for Florida license but will only be given to me for the duration of my EAD validity. On the other hand, my New Mexico license is valid till 2022 so I have been using that all these years.

Do you think I need a Florida license where my interview will be as a form of ID or I can use my EAD as an ID plus my previous state drives license?

Any input is highly appreciated.

How long ago did you move from NM to FL? Where is your car registered?

Guys, I'm happy for you who got their interview dates or approval notices! Congrats!

I put in a second service request in December (as first one was never assigned for processing), and yesterday, on my case status, they had added a note on the bottom left that my service request had been assigned to an officer for response (finally some news from them!).

Today I log in again and it says that "On January 10, 2018, we sent a response to your inquiry about why your case is taking longer than our processing time, referral number SRXXXXX" and then after that another note that my inquiry has been "completed".

I have checked my email but I got nothing from USCIS. Does anyone have experience with this? Should I expect a letter in the mail instead of an email?

Since I'm here I'll ask few questions that were bugging me for a while.

My EAD is expiring in May, but I probably won't get interview until late April. Do you know if I need to apply for new EAD and pay the fee again? Also, since it'll be more than 12 months since my medical exam, will I need to get a new one? And the last questions- I'll be traveling abroad with my passport in my maiden name, and my AP card in my current last name. Did anybody have any experience with that? I'll be flying in through Detroit.

Thanks in advance!

I did.

That's what happened with my expedition request for EAD/AP combo card. They claimed they sent me an email, but I didn't get anything. Call and ask them to read you the response over the phone. I believe I had to speak to 2nd tier officer in order to find out what they emailed me. Good luck!

Man, they can't seem to get one right, can they? This is so frustrating. I'll have to call them tomorrow then, as today it's already too late.

Did they ever send you a letter about it?

No, no letter. Just the email.

For what I've read here, you don't have to pay the EAD fee again: it's free to renew.

Other people have said that the medical exam 12 months count until you apply for AOS, so if you applied before the 12 months were gone (most of us do), you shouldn't worry. But I can't speak from personal experience as I don't have GC yet.

I don't know about the name, sorry.

I reached out to my congresswoman and filled out a specific uscis privacy release. They will reach out to USCIS. Idk if anyone has done this before but I know an option and they are more than willing to do so. I’ll keep you all posted.

They will send the response via mail post address, not e-mail. It took me 2 weeks to receive it.

When I changed address I saw the same thing online. But never got any confirmation. Had to call them and in fact they didn't update the information. So in a course of 2 months I called 3 times to check if they actually changed the address :)

Hey guys,

did anyone had the issue when you can't submit the Case Inquiry request?

I filled in the information, but after hitting submit button got a message saying that your application is not late.

Although for the area we moved a few months ago, they are processing March fillers since October 31.

Any thoughts?

The officer on the phone in December said you should expect some news in the next 90 days.

I would reapply for an EAD now. It doesn't cost anything, so why not?

At least you'll have peace of mind.
