My GC was approved a while back (I actually filed for ROC a few weeks ago) - my then-fiance did go to the interview with me (it was allowed in my embassy) and I did get my GC approved with an interview waiver, but I know of at least one case that the GC was also approved without an interview where the US citizen did not attend the interview. So I suppose that could be true for some, but not necessarily for all.

Wow, that's weird. On what basis do they deny entrance to US citizens to their own embassy?

They have different rooms for foreign applicants if you will. And it's not big, so maybe that's it. I don't know for sure. I I'm not mistaken it was also mentioned in my letter. It didn't matter to me since my husband wasn't even in the Netherlands at that time. And I think I read someone's experience on vj journey that the fiance was with them but had to wait or something.

Funny thing! I just called the NBC to find out where my case is located. Since I got my Workpermit before online they said they were working on it. After that phone call a few minutes later I got the update that my interview is scheduled.

SO people who have Sacramento as their field office, they seem to be working on March filers..

March28... still waiting

Hi, Just got an update on my case.

We filled on march 27th. On October 4th, I sent a service request online. They answered on October 19th but I never received the answer so I called on earlier this week to request the answer but they told me they couldn't investigate before 30 days have passed. I called back this morning, she told me they were working on my case. Later today I got a notification and my Green Card is now in production. I am not sure if the Service Request and Calling helped but I am happy I did it. I like to think it helped speed up the process.

I wish the best of luck to anyone still in the process.

When does your EAD expire? From my understanding you can apply to renew it 90-120 Days before expiration. I was just wondering if Houston was actually giving anyone any interview dates. Our case has said fingerprint fee received since 3/23.

Yep. I filed in April, got my EAD and AP and now just...waiting.

Just wondering if anyone in Houston was getting interview dates. Also, wondering how much of a delay Hurricane Harvey caused. Does your case say any other than Fingerprint fee received?

My EAD expires at the beginning of May. Will have to reapply, I’m just annoyed that I’ll have to pay the fee again and will use the card only for couple of months before I get GC.

The extension is free if you even need to renew it. I know this is taking a while, but May is still over half a year away.

Yes no fee just include your approval letters indicating i485 is pending and you have EAD. I am kind of hoping that the green card is not received until after June 1st which is our 2 year wedding anniversary. Houston processing times still show they are working on cases from Aug/ Sept of 2016 so I think we are in for a longer haul compared to others.

Nope, it's been stuck on Fingerprint Fee Received since April. I don't know if Harvey has much to do with it because it was pretty slow before that. I don't know. I honestly don't see an interview happening before next year. The general guideline is that it should take about a year, but with so many people getting their interviews and approvals so quickly it's hard to remain patient!
