I finally got the notification that my EAD was approved! It changed to new card being produced yesterday, and I had received my AP approval notice in the mail and it was approved on July 18.

Now I have to make sure it gets mailed to the right address, I had called and spoke to a tier 2 agent and she said that the online request I had made wasn't accepted. I had her submit the change again for me, and she said it should be changed by the weekend.

Did you get an update as to it being mailed/any updates on the website since it was approved last week?  I was also approved on August 2 and trying to gauge when it is coming.

I went to dmv again. They told me my case is pending. And they dont know how long it would take for them to get a drivers permit card. I told them about save case check. They dont know about it. I cant verify my status from save case check. I called uscis. They told me only dmv can call save case check. Or dhs. I dont know what to do. They wont send me the card. It is stupid. I dont know what to do. Do you guys have a suggestion?

I'm seeing a lot of people on here get interviews (and pass, yay!) and get AOS done with, but it seems to me they're adjusting from F1s, H1Bs and the like. Are there any March filers who are adjusting from K1 visas who have had interviews? Or had their greencards approved already without interview?

The K1 journey:                                                                                                                             The AOS journey:

11/09/2013 - I-129F Packet mailed to Dallas Lockbox                                                                                         06/22/2015 - AOS packet mailed to Chicago Lockbox

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

06/19/2015 - Wedding (L)

The ROC journey:

10/12/2017 - ROC packet mailed to VSC

01/21/2019 - ROC Approved - there was no interview

The N-400 journey:

02/16/2020 - N-400 application filed online

02/21/2020 - Paper NOA received in the mail

03/13/2020 - Biometrics

02/02/2021 - Interview & test - Approved

02/05/2021 - Oath Ceremony

I don't think the processing time depends as much on previous status as much as on specific location. I'm adjusting from F1 and 132 days later (minus couple of weeks from RFI)- still no update, not even "ready to be scheduled" status :( Correct me if I'm wrong though, I need some good news!

I asked this same question on this forum a while back and most people seemed to think that it didn't matter from what visa you were adjusting from...I tend to have a different opinion...I think it takes much longer for K1s.  If anyone else has a different opinion then kindly share.

I feel the same! I'm also K1 with no updates and 132 days in(I think, lost count). But I also don't know if anyone on here is from Sacramento or has their office in Sacramento ( I did ask awhile ago)so can't really compare.

I tend to agree the F-1's have already had an interview just before entering the country...

... there's less need to re-interview which is why you see a lot of waivers. Presumably the backgrounds have all been done too so the paperwork is already pretty much assembled...

The K1 Visa you marry after arriving in the usa... so I have to think a follow up interview is crucial...

In my case, even though we've been married 10 years in the USA. An interview is mandatory.

USCIS needs time to get our paperwork together..

... it bums me to wait while other people are getting waivers but I understand the importance.

It's the only chance immigration has to ferret out fraudulent marriages...

... at least that's my 2 cents.

As far as I have seen F1 didn't get a waiver but an interview. The ones that can get a waiver (as far I know from visa journey and the USCIS website)is that K1 can get a waiver, because their intend is to marry and we also had an interview before entering. What I've heard is that with a waiver you wait longer. People I know who got a waiver had to wait 7-12 months.

You might be right...

I only really know that I should start worrying if it gets to about a year...

There are so many variables like work load of the offices, delays in review of paperwork, delays in background checks...

I am hoping for 8 months which would put us in November...
