Thanks for the replies!!!

I guess there's no way to find out what time frame I might be looking at. Looks like I'll book my flight with some sort of insurance that i get some money back if I have to cancel. I'm not too worried about using AP card though.

Am I right though and i have the RFIE receive date as my priority date for AOS?

that would be safe assumption and you wont be disappointed if it doesn't stick to the old timeline this way... hope you get it sooner though... best of luck...

June 12th   : Bio-metrics done, Walked in with an infopass appointment that nobody asked for. They didn't even ask why i was coming in early.

The person who dealt with me was very nice and welcoming.

I got my update to Case ready to be scheduled for interview right after they received my RFIE documents as well... because that is when they have all documents ready and thus the case likely is complete and ready for the interview. It doesn't mean that it didn't reset your time.

Oh and btw it did reset my time. 135 days until I got the EAD approved.

they got my files on april 19 but there is still no update for i-485. i might get interview waiver. Hope so at least. I am so far away from uscis office. It is 5-6 hours drive. :(

I'm sure that's why you didn't get the case is ready to be scheduled... because you'll likely get a waiver unless your field office suddenly needs more K1 AOS Interviews at their field office. 😊

Im literally only a 30 minutes bus drive (or 12 minute car drive) away but my field office processing times belong to the longest in the country (still nowhere close to NY processing times but it's still pretty long) so I had kind of hoped for a waiver. I recently saw that someone with the same office got their interview after 6 months though which would fall into my vacation. I'm fine with whatever date as long as it doesn't fall within the time frame that I'll be in Germany.

I didn't even get an RFE and didn't hear anything about my GC. Yours is probably still at the NBC. You won't hear anything until it either goes to you field office or you get a waiver. But no one can say how long it will all take.

Action on my wife's EAD - "On July 8, 2017, we ordered your new card " :jest:

Exactly 74 days after USCIS received our response to a Request for Initial Evidence (the birth certificate).
It's been 110 days since the initial filing was received back on March 20.

Still waiting on Advance Parole and an Interview Date... from what I am told they restart the clock off the response to the RFIE date.

Sounds like you're well within the estimated dates here on VJ. Also, please update your timeline!

I really don't care about green card anymore :D Since i got my EAD i can work and start feeling productive and do almost anything i can with green card :D i wanted to update because i didn't get anything on my GC yet, and it is ok if i need to wait a couple more months. Time passes fast when i have a job :D

Yes i hope without interview. 7-8 months to green card actually pretty good. I will be happy if i got my gc around that time frame :D

Those of you who had their green card approved without interview, did your status change directly from fee recieved to approved or did it change to your interview is ready to be scheduled?

Those who get the approval without an interview never get the ready for interview status update. Once you get that, it's basically guaranteed that you'll have a interview because it means that your case is already with your local office and in the queue for an interview appointment.

So the ones who get approved without interview, their case doesn't go to the local office?

I'm quoting another VJ member here who said that there's been cases that interviews still got waived even after they had the "interview ready to be scheduled" status:

What they told me at my field office is that when the case is "ready" at NBC and is in line to be sent to the field office the status changes to "ready to be scheduled for interview". Once the field office has received the case they can decide if there will be an interview or not, and if the interview is waived they will send you a letter stating that. So yes, according to my field office you can definitely get waived despite that status. How common it is I don't know.

Nope. Of course there are always exceptions, but cases with an interview waiver rarely leave the NBC.

@Californiansunset

Yes, we all know there are always exceptions and unusual movements on cases when it comes to USCIS. There's one in the October thread I believe. That's why I said "basically guaranteed" and not just "guaranteed".

Hello everyone, I've been quiet on the forums for several weeks in part to preserve my sanity through the long waiting, but I've been keeping up with everyone's progress through the weekly digest, so I thought I should also share my update.

I got a surprise text and email on Saturday telling me my EAD has been approved and a card was being mailed (it took 113 days). This was without any RFE/RFIE or expedite requests. No updates on AP or GC yet.

Good luck everyone!

Congrats..!!!!! And best of luck for your GC :-)

Hello everybody - im back on here after going through my original visa approval i130. So now im at the AOS stage. my husband filed in March and I received a letter in June regarding the biometrics appt which I had in June also. I was notified that my residence status was extended for a year on the system but its not on my card or in my passport. so if I needed to do some international travel ie canada is this gonna pose a problem.

And second query is how long between the biometrics to get an interview? or is this a necessity i was told that sometimes the interview gets waived.

I don't know much about I130 but from my understanding only K1 visa holders can get an interview waiver. Don't know about other visa holders when filing AOS
