Hey everyone! Congrats to all of those who've gotten their GCs and EAD approvals!

Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me...

- 114 days since filing (March 27)
- Our marriage interview has been scheduled for August 10

But we still haven't heard anything about the EAD :(

How's everyone else doing?

112 days and still nothing. I had raised another SR last week, checked the status on the USCIS site just now and it said it was completed and they sent a response. I got an email from the first SR, but haven't gotten anything yet for this one.

Hoping I will get something soon!

Hi everyone,

I just want to verify something real quick as I am wondering whether I'm understanding the field office processing times correctly:

This is my timeline for AOS:

Receive date: 02/27

RFIE receive date: 04/03

Status changed to interview ready to be scheduled: 04/11

Now my field office (San DIego) processing times show the following:

Field Office Processing Dates for San Diego CA as of: May 31, 2017
Form Form Name Processing Cases As Of Date:
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status 6. Oktober 2016
N-400 Application for Naturalization 10. Oktober 2016
N-600 Application for Certification of Citizenship 3. Dezember 2016

So which of my dates do I take as a case date? I assume the RFIE receive date right?!

I'm trying to find this out because if I take the actual receive date my interview likely would get scheduled around October, exactly the month I would like to book a flight to go back home for two weeks. If I take the RFIE receive date of the day my status changed to ready then I am fine and can go on vacation without being worried that my greencard interview might get scheduled during that time.

congrats everybody!

I couldn't get my DL. It is annoying. i had learners permit (printed out on paper) before i get my ead. But tallahasse never sent me the learners permit card for 60 days, and it expired. So i went to DMV and told them i want to have my driving test. They said, you can't get it till you get your learners permit hard card. I said they did not send it and it is expired anyways. I don't want it. They was like, we will order it again, they should send it in 60 days they said... Annoying again.

I won't be able to go to work by myself, someone will have to take me to the work, it will be hassle for us. Why everything have to be hard way all the time :S

There is no bus, Uber is so expensive. So really, i don't have a choice. and i will just go 5 miles. uber says it will cost 12 dollars. For just one way.

Hello everyone, it has been a while that i posted or checked in VJ, i just wanted to stay away a little bit as this whole process is stressing, in order to take care of me and my new family here. So doing my things home, i just received the app notification " a new card has being ordered' this happens on day 107. and after i made an online service request and a call. So congrats to all of you that have your cases approved, and again for those waiting, hang in there...i know its hard but there's nothing else to do besides waiting and passed the 90 days, make an online request, call...but it will certainly come. Good luck to all of us

Do you have a job yet (just asking bc two weeks ago you didn't)? I wouldn't worry about it until you actually have a job. It can take sometimes a month after applying until the company invites you for an interview.

Other than that you're not alone! I had/have a similar problem. Before I got my EAD I would still drive sometimes. Chances are slim that you get pulled over and if you do the whole situation before you got the EAD is a big grey area. I was counting on the fact that if they ask for a CAlifornian driver license that the officer would agree that I am still more of a tourist than a resident (since I wasn't eligible to get a CAli DL) and therefore wouldn't fine me for driving without valid license (obviously I knew it was a risk but I had to drive myself to job interviews and stuff). Now that I have the EAD is a different story. My husband's employer agreed that while I am stil in this limbo that he comes to work later so he can drop me off at mine and then leaves earlier to pick me up at work again. Ysterday I took an uber home as well. $18...so what I make in an hour. But technically it's still better than having no job, right?! Can your husband drive you? Or friends? Sometimes my friends pick me up or for example today a co-worker said he would drive me home. Once you have a job and your co-worker hear about your problem there may be some that offer you to help you out for the time while you don't have a DL. I find that Americans are so friendly they always want to help you out. Or what about taking a bike to work? 5 miles are not far at all... :)

Hi to all!

I hope everyone is doing great!

For all of those that have gotten their EAD, GC or news in general. Congratulations and for those that haven't I wish you all the bet of the lucks!

Also I wanted to congratulate you my dear friend @DorothyLa It is exciting news your EAD! DL can be a pain, I will make my skill test the next Monday! I know so frustrating! But don't lose your patience you will get your DL soon!

One recommendation have you tried to apply for a job from home, you know like a customer service?  Try Teletech I used to work for them, or try indeed and look for "home jobs" while you are waiting for your DL .

Take care

I got a job, $18 per hour job sounds great. I am 20 yo, i got no university education. I was thinking about it, i met with my husband when i was 18 and he just wanted me to come us to live with him. That's why i delayed my university plans. With no job experience and no education on anything special, nobody really wants to hire me. So i got a job at McDonald's. i will start friday. My husband will give me a ride. I thought about bike but florida air is terrible, it rains like crazy sometimes. Storms so bad. I don't know why people call here sunshine state :D
