Hello everyone,

 

Still no news on the K2s greencards, but I did receive a reminder letter from USCIS to lift conditions on my own (my ROC window opens in a few weeks). I wasn't really expecting to receive one, as the guides here say they're inconsistent, so it was nice to receive it.

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

05/21/2015 - Interview - Approved

You'll only get the approval status on the paper that they will mail to you. 

hey... i was following your journey, how did the interview go? hope everything went great!

 

just your typical immigrant LOL!!!

 

Timeline so far:

May 23rd    : Sent i-485, i-130&130A, i-131 and i-765 along with supporting documents at around 6PM via UPS next morning delivery.

May 24th    : USCIS received packet at 10 AM.

May 31st    : 4 texts and emails NOAs for all the applications and signed up for case status account.

June 2nd    : NOAs in the mail.

June 9th     : Bio-metrics appointment notice dated June 2nd. Appointment scheduled for June 20th.

June 12th   : Bio-metrics done, Walked in with an infopass appointment that nobody asked for. They didn't even ask why i was coming in early.

                      The person who dealt with me was very nice and welcoming.

July 3rd       : At 11AM received an email saying your case status has changed to interview is scheduled for August 2nd...

August 2nd : Attended interview was approved on the spot... IO was nice professional and polite but not friendly...

August 10th : At 2PM received my Green card in the mail!!!!

Decided to give USCIS a call to see if they have any news about my I-485. They said my case still hasn't been transferred to my local office, so all I can do is keep waiting and hope for an interview waiver since the NYC office is so massively backlogged. But I assume that if an interview would be required, my case would have been transferred already. So here's to hoping for an interview waiver letter soon.

Did you talk to tier 2 or just regular rep?

Filed for concurrent I-130 / Adjustment of Status with EAD and AP: 

2017-03-07 - Lawyer mailed out the packet to Chicago Lockbox office ----- (I chose this as my DAY 1) 

2017-03-09 - Application packet was delivered to Chicago Lockbox

2017-03-10 - Priority Date for all cases  

2017-03-20 - USCIS cashed the check

2017-03-23 - Received four notices - I-130 / I-485 / I-765 / I-131

2017-03-27 - Received email that they are sending an RFIE notice

2017-03-31 - Lawyer received the RFIE yellow notice 

2017-04-03 - Response to RFIE mailed out today

2017-04-05 - Response to RFIE was delivered to NBC, Lee's Summit, MO 

2017-04-07 - USCIS acknowledged receipt of the reply to RFIE 

2017-04-07 - Received biometric appointment letter in the mail 

2017-04-18 - Biometric appointment 

2017-05-17 - Status changed to "We ordered your new card..."

2017-05-19 - Status changed to "We mailed your new card..."

2017-05-22 - Received approval notices for EAD and AP

2017-05-23 - Received EAD/AP combo card in the mail

2017-06-09 - Received email that interview is scheduled on July 12th

2017-07-12 - Interview day

2017-07-12 - Status changed to "We updated your name..." for my I-485 and I-130

2017-07-14 - Status changed to "We ordered your new card.." for my I-485

2017-07-17 - Received approval notice by mail for I-130

2017-07-18 - Status changed to "We mailed your new card..." for my I-485

2017-07-20 - Received I-485 approval / Welcome Notice by mail 

2017-07-21 - Received greencard in the mail. --------- (DAY 137)

I filed another service request on July 10th with expected response date of July 22nd.

Probably going to get same response, but we got only two weeks until supposed deadline for us.

3/24/2017 : AOS, EAD, AP mailed to Chicago, IL PO box

3/25/2017 : AOS, EAD, AP delivered to Chicago, IL PO box

3/27/2017 : AOS, EAD, AP picked up from Chicago, IL PO box

4/5/2017 : Received 3 NOA text messages

4/10/2017 : Received 3 NOA letters in mail. Notice date April 4 2017; Received date 3/27/2017

4/14/2017 : Received letter in mail for biometrics appointment. Scheduled on April 24th

4/24/2017 : Biometrics completed in 30 minutes, no problemo.

5/11/2017 : Status for AOS updated, RFIE

5/15/2017 : Received RFIE letter. I-864 does not meet requirements

5/16/2017 : RFIE Response sent with co-sponsor's I-864 as well as copy of DS-3025

5/17/2017 : RFIE Response delivered and signed for

5/19/2017 : Status for AOS updated, RFIE response received

6/12/2017 : Filed online service request for I-765 (EAD)

I have my green card interview next Wednesday! Still no update on my EAD being approved though... is it likely that I may be getting my GC before EAD approval?

 

Sadly I've had to turn down a few jobs because of how delayed my work permit has been :( 

 

I'm also seeing people getting interviews and receiving their green card in a week, is that what I should be expecting?

So called today to find out what was going on with the expidited request and make sure they received the fax, for his EAD apparently there was nothing on file. So we have to wait another 5 days for them to review our request and get back to us (likely going to ask for proof AGAIN).

Could they have lost your RFE/RFIE response even though status was updated to RFE/RFIE response received? That would be bizarre

No, the evidence that I was referring to was for the expidite request. As their computers were showing we never ask. Even though they sent us a letter asking to submit proof of why we needed to expedite.

4/10 received NOA 1 in the mail

4/15 biometrics appt letter received

4//27 had fingerprints taken

4/28 rfe - lost marriage cert 

5/5 mailed marriage cert to uscis

5/15 status changed to response to rfe received

6/13 status changed to 'ready to schedule for interview'

6/22 sent SR for EAD 

7/1 SR response 'due to rfe response received on 5/15. 90 days processing starts on 5/15. 

7/13 100 DAYS MARK from aos date 

7/23 Received eap and ap approval letters

7/25 status changed to 'card was mailed'

7/28 Received ead and ap combo card! 

8/4 4 MONTHS SINCE 4/4 

8/12 130 day mark from AOS received date

9/1 150 day mark from AOS received date

11/2 received an interview date for 12/11
