What was the generic reply? They have two generic replies, one says it's within processing and one is it's under review. When it's under review it means that someone is working on your case. You can always call them and ask them if there is anything wrong with your case or if you might have missed a letter. They probably refer you to a tier 2 officer who can see a bit more in the system. It can't hurt to ask questions. Your local office will only get your AOS application when it's ready to be scheduled for an interview.

Hope this helps you.

This was the reply for SR on June 26.

"Your case is currently under review.  You should receive a decision or notice of other action shortly."

I went to local office after that to see if they needed any document. They did not mention requiring any documents.

Hopefully, I will get some updates next week.

It's the same I got. After a while I asked to do a expedite request. I wasn't asked to submit any proof and one day later in the evening it said that my expedite request was completed and then the next day it switched to case was approved. Maybe worth a shot for you too and just request to expedite?!

I could be 100% wrong but I don't think the RFE/RFIE happens in every case...

You only get an RFE/RFIE if there is something missing or they want additional evidence... (in my case, there was a birth certificate they wanted)

... they are over the deadline to provide the EAD card however... so if it was me I'd be bugging the Tier 2 officers daily for help

I'd only contact a congressman as a last resort. If you look at some of the threads of earlier filers for some reason some applications take longer than others but usually there is movement eventually

It is frustrating waiting. When I went for my citizenship interview, I was told by the officer ''in two weeks you will get a decision in the mail''. That turned into a 2 month wait with no answer... finally getting a request for more paperwork in the mail and another month of waiting after that. They have so many applications and some of the offices take longer than others... good luck

@britontherun Thanks for sharing your experience.

So how do I request for Tier 2 officers? Do I call the number 800-375-5283 and request for Tier 2 officer? Last time I called they could only help me with SR filing. Or is there another procedure  (or phone number) for that?

Thanks.

When you get through to the first person, explain you have an issue and are outside of normal processing times and specifically say ''can I speak to a Tier 2 officer''.

Those officers have more back end information on your file...

Hello everyone,

We sent our AOS paperwork at the beginning of Feb but there was some delay with processing everything and we finally got our Notice of Action for AOS dated March 8th. We did fingerprints and we also got my spouse's EAD and AP ad the end of May.

Today, we were surprised with an update that says: "New Card Is Being Produced" for our I-485. They approved us without interview!! Yay!! We are so happy!!

Good luck to everyone! :jest:

Congratulations 🎈
