Hello everyone. Last July 1 my hubby got his EAD card. Today 7/10 @ 10:30 am we had our interview for his I 485 petition  (K1 visa) and got approved on the spot. Our priority date is March 23,2017. The interview lasted less than 20 mins at USCIS office in LA downtown.

Sending positive vibes to all who are still waiting for their EAD and interview dates.

Congratulations

May I ask how long it took to get your appointment for the interview? My status changed on April 12. And I'm still waiting to get an appointment. I'm at the same office.

Okay, I received the RFE letter yesterday. This morning I just reviewed my entire package I sent off.

They have a problem with my application regarding confirming my name.

I included my long and short birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport, k-1 visa in passport and my k1 visa application and other paperwork. I checked my name on all paperwork and it is spelled correctly.

I'm from the United Kingdom so all my paperwork is in English.

I received the RFE notice on day 115 because they lost my documents it would seem? I have my local congresswoman on my side so I'll forward her more information. Any direction on where to call about this?

I'm going to send what they request to avoid my case being closed but I'm really really upset about this.

Any ideas?

Congratulations! I have a few of questions for you if you may.

Is your zipcode close to downtown?

Did you get a 'ready to be scheduled for interview notice' by txt or email? if so when did you receive that update or mail?

When did you receive your interview scheduled notice?

Congratulations and go live your life together (for about a year and a half then don't forget to remove conditions!)

I'm confused. Are you saying you only have one name and you had provided required evidence for the name? Were they specific about the problem?

This might sound silly but it is entirely legitimate. Any name you've stated you are called by even a nickname should be backed up with evidence or at least an explanation of the name used. Is it possible that there is a lack of that for a name or nickname that you've provided on the forms or referenced in any of the evidence?

I gave them my full name, no nicknames.

Pre Marriage have First Name, Two Middle Names, Surname.

My marital name is now First Name, Three Middle Names (the third now being my maiden last name) and Husbands Surname.

I provided all my birth certificates (long and short), passport etc and marriage certificate which shows my name change.

There's nothing on my paperwork other than my birth name and married name. There arent any nicknames, abbreviations etc.

Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some advice on my case! Here is my timeline so far:

Adjustment of Status
Event Date
CIS Office : San Antonio TX
Date Filed : 2016-01-21
NOA Date : 2016-01-25
RFE(s) : 2016-03-05
Bio. Appt. : 2017-05-04

So its been 536 days since we initially filed our paperwork for AOS from a K1 visa  on Jan 21, 2016 and we are over the average processing times, yet no one seems to be able to help us. I have tried talking with our state rep, our ombudsman, called USCIS on the phone multiple times, and have filed multiple online case inquiries,  and when we went down to the USCIS service center for biometrics no one would tell us anything either. I am at a loss as to why our case is taking so long and why no one will help us. On our case inquires, the few times that they have responded all they have said is "due to work factors unrelated to your case, expect a delay" and then there was one that said if you haven't heard anything in 90 days please contact us, but still nothing. Not only that, but it took 16 months to even receive a biometrics appointment.

He came on a K-1 visa from the United Kingdom and I even have a co sponsor, I am in San Antonio, Tx. If there is any advice y'all can give me or anything that will help please write me.
