When I was talking to the IO on the phone he made clear that they are, even though they are IOs, just Customer representatives and can't actually do anything with the case... i think it was pure luck and good karma that after you called your status it switched to approved.

When i called he said that he can see that I was supposed to get an answer to my service request today but that they still haven't seemed to look at it and that I need to call back Monday if I haven't gotten an update. I asked a bunch of questions to why/what/when and he always explained that he can't do much and can only say what he sees and that these IOs on the line don't do anything besides helping the customers with answers and putting service requests in.

Yeah, that has been my experience. I called them two weeks ago and yesterday. I wanted to know about what's happening to my case. All they could help me with was put SR. I could not put SR yesterday as the first SR one had not crossed 30 days.

I have been waiting for 116 days now, without RFE/RFIE.

Day 115, receive an email from the USCIS about an RFE

I haven't received any RFE/RFIE on any case so this is a first.

It's for the EAD so I feel a bit frustrated and bummed to say the least.

Oh wow that's a late RFE. I'm sorry to hear that. They probably were finally going to process it and noticed the mistake/missing document. Do you have an idea what it's for? Since it's 'only' a RFE and not RFIE it'll continue processing where it left of as soon as they get the requested documents instead of turning the waiting time back to 0. That's the good news...

I feel you on our Day 90 I got a notification for RFE on i485 asking for a copy for our marriage certificate when in the very first place our number one in the checklist before submitting our application is a copy of marriage certificate. I called USCIS they said possibly the officer over looked it :(((( I even told the guy why are they sending RFE just now when it is exactly 90 days and our EAD is still pending. According to who I spoke to he said it wont affect the EAD process, hopefully. our attorney advised us to just follow what they are asking for... Today we got the notification that our RFE response was received. Hopefully we will hear some good news soon! this whole process is soo frustrating. Good Luck to us who are still waiting and praying everyday for an answer already!

Soooooo what's the next thing after the notification that RFIE response was received? Should I be expecting interview now? According to the processing times no VJ I won't be getting it any time soon. What if my current EAD expires before I get the green card? Do I have to reapply for EAD/AP?

On a different note- did anybody has any experience traveling on AP with married name and passport with maiden name? Planning a trip abroad and I'm unsure if I'll be able to come back to the country ;))

Have a wonderful weekend everybody!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody!

Book the flight in the maiden name you have on your passport. That is all that matters to the airline to let you fly. When you enter the US all you need to show the CBP officer is the passport, AP and marriage certificate with name change. I'd bring the I-797 of the I-485 as well though.. just in case.

I came back from Germany with the EAD/combo card and arrived at LAX, 2 weeks ago. I had no problems at POE. They checked my passport, took fingerprints and picture than I had to go with an officer to a "second review" room. I waited there for about 10 min. Than they gave me back my passport stamped with "paroled" until June 2018. I brought all my NOAs and marriage certificate but they didn't even ask for it. This was the best experience I ever had when entering the US 😃

I never meant to say it in that way. What I was trying to say is that i just wanted to know what they meant with under review and if/or there was something wrong with my case, like not gotten a letter or something. He put me on hold twice to look at things. I did talk to a tier 2 officer. I know it was just dumb luck that that all happened in a two hour window. I was just thinking that if you ask them what does this or this mean, you might have more luck. That was even what the girl suggested when I first called. She said sometimes tier 2's can see more on your case. At least that's what they told me.

Action on my wife's EAD - "On July 8, 2017, we ordered your new card " :jest:

Exactly 74 days after USCIS received our response to a Request for Initial Evidence (the birth certificate).
It's been 110 days since the initial filing was received back on March 20.

Still waiting on Advance Parole and an Interview Date... from what I am told they restart the clock off the response to the RFIE date.

Has anyone tried to contact USCIs on a Saturday before? It says the customer service hotline is available on saturdays from 9am-5pm in each time zone but it doesn't give me the option to talk to someone.

My third service request went through and it says a notice was mailed. It still doesn't say that it was approved on the app and I haven't received a status change via text or email. I'm very confused. Day 132 since the receive date and Day 98 since RFIE receive date.
