Called USCIS today regarding my wife's EAD. Long story short, since we did get RFIE for AOS the time resets for AOS and all concurrent pending applications. The lady told that we should be expecting a status update within 75 days of RFIE response received date. If we don't get response within that time then we can do a service request. So we will be sitting tight until August 2nd.

i know this sounds odd, but maybe try ringing again tomorrow and see if you speak to someone different, i've heard this alot before where people have had RFE/RFIE and called and been told no they cant put in a service request, called back another day and it has gone through fine. Perfect example of this is that I got an RFIE for my I-485 and when I rang to confirm all the details of the evidence I was going to send back and make sure it was ok, I was told that my RFIE only paused concurrently filed applications, and wasn't going to reset them and specifically told me if I didn't hear anything to call on the 12th June to put in a service request, I called today, and the lady put in my request. It sounds bad but it seems to be dependent on who you speak to as to whether you are allowed to do certain things.

So maybe try calling again tomorrow and see what they say :)

I have news: at 82 days since applicaiton receipt, USCIS has granted a request to expedite my EAD based on a pending offer of employment. This expedite may only trim a few days from the 90-day processing time, but it means that I won't have to go back to this employer and delay starting work. Note: I applied for AP concurrently but the USCIS site doesn't show any changes in it, hopefully I will be getting a combo card.

Background: on Thursday I faxed them my offer letter and the printout of the e-mailed notice, with a brief cover letter containing the case info numbers, the selected expedite criteria, and listing the single item of evidence. The request was initially made on Monday-5 and I received e-mail notification on Tuesday-6, with the notification letter arriving in the mail today.

It's been almost 7 months since I was last employed, and I'm elated that this forced "staycation" will finally be coming to an end. Stay strong, everybody!

Hi there,

I expedited my EAD and today my status changed to " my card was mailed to me". My question,  is the AP included on this card? I didn't mention the AP when I talked with them to expedite my EAD, but on my understanding, EAD is a combo card so, I don't know if expediting your EAD includes the AP as well. Any way my AP status has not changed.

You won't actually know until you get the NOA 2's in the mail.  It will tell you if it's a combo card or not. It can very easily just be a work authorization without the AP on it. Mine was a combo card though and I only requested an expedite for my EAD.

Do you know if I can expedite based on a job offer after my biometrics, +30 days of PD?

So today we got our letter in the mail about our EAD inquiry got what we expected "with in normal processing times" kinda already knew that but their letter said after 78 days to notify and submit an inquiry so that's what I did! Just following direction! :D

Today is day 87 so fingers crossed  for this week and for everyone else's EAD that still on hold and really close to 90 days. Especially for those that are over 90 day!! Let this week be a great one for all of us!!

when did you call to put in the service request, I've just rang today, as it is past the 75 day mark, but like you I'm not expecting much, as ther eare so many people waiting over 90 days for their EAD right now that I've very much aware its going to still be a while before I have my EAD in my hand.... but what I keep remembering is I am closer every single day to get that work permit, and sooooo much closer than what I was at the beginning of this process, and there has been so many times where i've just wanted to give up. But we are almost there guys! one step closer everyday!!! :)

We called on day 81, yeah it's frustrating but as you said we are way closer than we were when we started!

Oooooh guys. I am so scared. :'( Today I saw update on my case. It said they mailed me another request for initial document. How come that is possible? We already got one RFIE. It was only one document on the list. It pass 47 days since they received that additional document. We are now on our 91 day since they received our package. Omg. Two RFIEs. That is normal or they can cancel my application? Please. Any advice or thoughts?

I'm so sorry to hear that.... but honestly it will be anyone's guess what the RFIE could be for, my guess would be that maybe they are still missing something from the first RFIE, or that whoever sent you the original RFIE didn't read through your entire application, just realised something was missing issued the RFIE, and now after receiving the required evidence, review the application again and got further and realised there is something else missing...... but honestly do not panic...... it is all guess work with USCIS, you will receive your RFIE in the mail in a couple days and have a solid answer for what they need from you. I know it is frustrating, but it is going to be so worth it in the long run, and you will be that little step closer to being a regular human once again ::)

sending you all the positive vibes, and hope your RFIE is an easy fix :)

Thank you so much emchappie. I was afraid we cannot have two RFIEs.
The first time it was a really simple request. My father in law needed to send a proof that we all are living at the same address. In the time we filled he was living in their second house. We even went to USCIS to ask exactly what we need so I doubt we didn't send everything. Maybe it is my birth certificate, or taxes from this year, or..ooooh I really don't know... I am so sad that they will reset again everything :'(. I really need a permit to work, I feel so useless here.
Again thank you so much. You calm me down. <3

I know it is frustrating, but just try remain calm, have you taken up ahobby or anything since you aren't working..... I have loads of good TV shows if you need any recommendations for something to watch to keep your mind off it.... I've always really enjoyed writing, and actually had a book published, so i figured as I have something so fresh to write about I'm actually documenting my journey for my own personal reference and in the future I can look back over it, so every time something happens I open up my word document, and type, its like my own story, maybe you could do the same, I find it is a postive way to keep me excited about the journey, and where I am going, rather than focusing on the negative what ifs. :)

I really hope that it is something simple for you :) As it is a RFIE for you 485 I would still try and ring to placce a service request, because I was told my RFIE was going to pause my progress on any applications filed concurrently, but not reset my EQAD processing time, but I was told to ring today and put in aservice request, and I told them I had a RFIE on my 485 but was told it was going to affect my EAD and she said let me have a look, looked and said it was fine. So you never know, at this point just try and focus on the future and your end goal, the opportunities it will offer you and the doors it may open. Bottom line is this entire process means that you can be with the love of your life, it is going to be totally worth the wait in the end :)

Yup. I am doing a scrapbook album for our wedding photos. I also started a travel blog. Learning online. Everything that I can.

Oooooh...Okay. I will try to place a service request. And hope for the best. I feel so lucky to have all these wonderful people like you here.Thank you one more time and wish you all the luck for you as well....
