Hey All!

It is nice to see that there is some definite progress for some of the posters on here. It does give me some hope that some day I will actually have an EAD in hand! Maybe one day in the future I'll be able to adjust my status too.

With all this waiting and general unknowns (alongside planning on moving, helping in-laws with renovations, family at home having major surgery....blahblahblah) I've completely forgotten about sending in an application to my Student Finances (UK) to change my address. I am beginning to feel like a bit of a pro at posting documentation to government agencies. I am hoping that as proof as unemployment I could attach the NOA1 for the EAD or AOS alongside a letter of intent to support from that package alongside the affidavit of support.

I'm currently at day 81 of this process with no RFIE and completed the biometrics appointment back in April. I think I may just wait until day 90 before sending in a service request.

How long has it taken to get hold of someone on the USCIS number? And what times have you called in and which timezone?

I am so grateful for this forum as it does help me to keep sane with all these unknowns caused by the immigration process.

Anyway, lets hope that June will bring us all some good news and movement towards where we want to be here in the US.

Sending some good vibes all your way!

Yeah I noticed. A lot of people are confusing that. You're not adjusting from a family based visa, you're adjusting from a work based visa. Same with all the B1/2 and VWP adjusting couples. They're adjusting from tourist visas, not from a family based visa lol.

This section is a lot more active though so the more the merrier.

Yeah the Student/ Tourist visa forum doesn't even have a March filers thread, so that's why I'm here!

Hi All!

I went to an infopass apointment at the Santa Ana field office. The officer told me that my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview although the status has not been updated online. She was unable to help me with any information regarding EAD/AP which was disappointing. She told me it could take 4 months or more... I'm still hopeful it will come within the 90 day period despite what she said.

In summary, infopass can be useful to some extent but it really does depend on the officer.

The more the merrier, like I said. If this is the spot for everyone to gather, then great! We're all in the same boat anyway.

Hey! Just wanted to let you know, in case you have not put a service request in yet... I did yesterday and by the end of the day I had notice that they were making an EAD for me... might be worth giving them a call!

May I ask when your priority date is?

GUYS!!!!!!

Good news here, I was already ready to wait a few more weeks but I decided to check on USCIS web page once more, kinda hopeless, but for my surprise  I found this;

"New Card Is Being Produced

On June 2, 2017, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number MS*******, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

I am so excited and happy to finally have some news!

For y'all that are still waiting for news hang in there! I know how hard it is. Don't lose the hope!

BTW I got a RFE in march the 16th about my birth certificate, so in my case it didn't affected for my EAD, my AP still shows the same message than before!

Hang in the guys!

I see what you mean but I find that a little confusing since the k visa is a non-immigrant visa which is essentially the same as any other non-immigrant visa.

I get your confusion. The thing is yes the K1 is officially a non-immigrant Visa, but it's processed as an immigrant Visa because your intent with this visa is to marry an USC and stay. So that's why a K1 visa is family based. A tourist or work visa are not family based. Wich is obvious I know. So what they're saying is this thread is for AOS after a family based visa.

You're still more than welcome, people are just going to assume you're adjusting from a K1.

Does this clear it up for you?
