Hi everyone,

New to this so apologies if I'm redundant.

We filed with my husband for my green card on March 25, package was received March 29. I had my biometrics scheduled for April 25. On May 19th the USCIS app was showing that my case was ready to be scheduled for an interview, but we haven't received anything yet.
I'm a little worried since we are traveling in two weeks for almost 3 weeks and with my luck, the notice will arrive while we are gone.
Has anyone been scheduled for interview and filed around the same time as us? How long should I wait?
Thanks,

You should be fine. The field office in New York City has a huge backlog, actually one of the biggest ones out of all USCIS field offices. So unless you for some reason get an interview notice within the next 7 days (which is extremely unlikely), you'll be fine because then you get around 4 weeks to prepare for the interview. It's likely that you won't get an interview until sometime in the late winter / early spring of 2018.

Got it.
My friend filed for hers a couple of months before me and she had a turn around of less than 6 months. I was hoping for the same, but I guess not.

What about EADs and travel docs? Those should come before, no?

Some people get lucky and get to the front of the queue somehow. But realistically, it'll probably be sometime in late 2017 / early 2018 until NYC locals get an interview. NYC is my field office as well, but my status has been stuck on Fingerprint Fee Received since February.

EAD and AP should come before then, yes. The average seems to be around 90 days so hopefully you'll hear something within the next 30 days. But you can still travel domestically for now, you just can't leave the US.

I have a double intent visa and have been traveling outside of the US with no problems. My lawyer has also said this is ok.

Okay fair enough. I didn't know what kind of visa you have, but I always assume people have a K-1 since this is the proper section for people adjusting status from a K-1 mostly.

I'm on H1B but AOS through marriage.  That's why I'm here :)

Yeah I noticed. A lot of people are confusing that. You're not adjusting from a family based visa, you're adjusting from a work based visa. Same with all the B1/2 and VWP adjusting couples. They're adjusting from tourist visas, not from a family based visa lol.

This section is a lot more active though so the more the merrier.
