Y'all,
I have a question about my EAD that I submitted: I came to the US on a K1 visa.

When I filled out the I-765 paperwork, there is number 16: Eligibility category. According to the instructions I had to put a 6 in the space. Is that correct? I've been reading lately about a 9. What is that number for?

The same here .. Did you get any sms or NOA yet? did they cash your check? i sent mine on 03-03-2017 .. & I didn't hear from them yet

The cashed the check on March 14th and on March 15th around 12.25am I received 3 text messages and 3 emails.

Took them 3 weeks.

There is a backlog at the Lockbox facility in Chicago but they will get to your application soon.

The girl I talked to said that either a6 or c9 is fine. The EAD will be valid for a year.

Hello Everbody :)

I'm visa status adjustment veteran- came to US  in 2012 on J1, then extended J1, changed to F1, now on EAD that will expire on May 18th. Sent in my AOS, EAD, and AP paperwork on Wednesday March 8th, paperwork was received in on Friday March 10th. Still waiting for the personal checks to be cashed and notifications. I was wondering if anybody can make an educated guesstimate on when I can expect a notification, checks to be cashed, and EAD? I really don't want to stop working, just got a big promotion at work :((!

I sent my AOS application, AP and EAD on February 21st and the check was cashed on March 14th. Received the notifications on March 15th at around 12.25am. There is a backlog at the Lockbox facility. That's why it sometimes can take longer than usual for USCIS to process your application. That also includes the applications for AP and EAD. Some people posted that it can take longer until you receive the documents in the mail.

The only thing I know is that if your EAD expires that you have to apply for an renewal 3 months before your EAD expires.

Hello Everybody! Thank you for sharing your timelines! I thought it would be good to share with you guys how my AOS process is going since I'm one of the March filers too.

I came to the US on a k1 visa, currently living in Florida.

AOS Package Sent: March 7.

Received: March 9.

Check Cashed: March 17. (Last Night)

I haven't received any text message or email yet but I might get them tonight.

I'm just glad that It didn't take over two weeks, I've seen that it takes that long to some people!

Anyways, I hope we don't get any RFE! ?

Have a great day!

Lilian.

To those of you waiting for their NOA1s, just try to relax. Because some people get theirs within a week doesn't mean that something is wrong if it takes longer for yours.

If you try to call USCIS, the response you will get is to call back after a month of filing. Nothing is wrong if you are still within that time frame.

Plus, as we know, there is a backlog at the Chicago facility so, just be patient and trust that everybody is doing their job correctly.

This process will be much less stressful if you see things that way.

Hope you won't have to wait for too long ! We've all been there. :)

Agreed. I filed on Dec 13th, and didn't receive anything until December 30th, it just took a long time to get to me, but eventually when I received it, they said they acknowledged it on December 16th. The check was cashed on Dec 27th, which was our first indicator they did something.
