maybe USCIS really stepped up their game again and is trying to make sure that people have their EAD's within 90 days.

Or the US is becoming a less attractive place to emigrate under Trump, so the USCIS' workload is lower?

A president isn't going to make the nation itself any less desirable to potential immigrants. The USA still offers many great opportunities to those who successfully move here, or so everyone hopes at least.

If anything, USCIS is getting more applications than ever because everyone is submitting paperwork now in case the president does try to drastically change the immigration laws. Even though it would still take a long time to get new laws passed, people are freaking out because of Trump.

So a little update that might be helpful with people who got RFIE and thus can't do a service request because their processing time started from 0 when they submitted the documents:

I called USCIS on day 77 (last Monday) of when they had received my application. Asked whether I can do a service request but had to answer the questions "Have you had a RFE or RFIE for this application or any concurrently filed applications?" with a yes. Then was told that my day starts from 0 again when USCIS got my papers and the usual bla bla.

So today I read from another VJ User that she got a RFIE as well, even called USCIS and was told that it won't affect her EAD processing times and got her EAD within 70 days. Thought that was pretty unfair (but really what is fair in this process?!) that our cases get handled so differently despite both having a RFIE and thought I'd give it another try. Called USCIS, got the same questions/answers as the first time and hang up since I wasn't allowed to do a service request yet.

So I called again. Next time I called I started completely different asking whether RFIE from another application affect my I-751. The lady said no. I got her a little confused or it might be also because she wasn't well trained (what I think was the case) but she assured me that the RFIE on the I-485 won't affect my I-751 processing time (weird that the other two ladies said it would but okay). After I got that answer I said I would like to do a service request with my case pending for 80 days now. She started asking a bunch of questions and then got to the same moment were they read the eligibility questions of their monitor and always ask "Have you ever gotten a RFIE or RFE...etc?" This is when she should've noticed her mistake and that the RFIE does affect the I-751 and that I can not do a service request. She hesitated for a little bit, even asked whether she can put me on a brief hold (30 seconds) because I think she noticed her mistake and got comfused. I told her that I got a RFIE for my I-485 but not my I-751 and she, although reluctant, was happy enough with that answer to finish my service request after I said I think it's odd how others get an RFIE and it doesn't affect their EAD but for me it does. We just had a friendly talk and I think she just wasn't knowledgeable enough to know that I should've not gotten a service request yet.

Moral of the story: Keep on trying to call USCIS until you get someone who is willing to help. Every case is handled differently and so are the answers you will get from each USCIS service representative you will get on that line when you call. After the third try I got my service request, even with RFIE.

Yeap, this is kinda annoying that actually nobody knows anything as certain. And actually 90 day waiting is stupid also. There is no reason to wait that long. All they need to do type a couple information.

Yeah, with the USCIS hotline it's usually a smart idea to keep calling until you get the info that you need as long as it's reasonable like a service request or a status update on your case / expedite.

Yeah I was just lucky that I got someone who wasn't trained properly and thus got the service request done (although too early because of the RFIE). Pure luck. It just also showed me again that you shouldn't take anything for granted they tell you on the "misinformation hotline" when it's different from what the official USCIS website tells you. These people are poorly trained and just read off of what their computer says.

She was super nice but had literally no clue what she was doing. When I first said I have a I-751 pending that I filed with AOS based on marriage and I want to do a service request based on it pending for more than 75 days she asked me what my field office is and told me the processing times from San Diego. Haha when I then explained again that I want to do it for my I-751 she told me that according to the USCIS chart they are currently working on cases in December so I still have to wait a long time to expect my EAD in the mail. I told her that those processing times from the USCIS site are from February 28th so they are way further now and she got super confused. I then told her that I am eligible to file a service request for my I-751 after pending for 75 days and she paused and seemed to look it up and said "you're right".

Maybe you should apply to work for the "misinformation hotline" and make sure the bad reputation it currently has will be a thing of the past. Lol

I don't have a priority date. That was blank on my noa1..

That's odd that it was blank.  I did notice, however, that you sent in your AOS application on March 21. Is that right?  Mine was received at USCIS on February 27.
