Good news for me. My future employer just sent me an email and said they're willing to move my start date back to June 19th. By then it'll be exactly 6 weeks or 112 days since the received date according to USCIS. I really hope I will have my EAD in hand so I can fill out the I-9 and everything else in a timely manner. It sucked not knowing if I can keep this job or not.

I only sent in a cover letter stating my yearly salary and all benefits the company has to offer and the job offer. The company I'll be working for is pretty big so the benefits are good, but I don't know if that had anything to do with it.

AP doesn't show anything by the way. Looks like it may not be the combo card.

Congratulations on getting your EAD expedite approved. :)

I've got a job interview tomorrow, and kinda really hoping they will offer me something so I can try request my expedite, although I do understand that just having a job offer doesn't guarantee that they will approve the expedite, but we are due to move to a new apartment (we share with another person right now) this new apartment will be just the two of us, and it would help so much if i am working by the time we get to the new apartment.

Quick question (which i feel is gona be a stupid question) what is the I-9 form you mentioned in the first post?

Congratulations again :)

The I-9 or the Employment Eligibility Verification is there to make sure that you're legally allowed to work. I was supposed to fill it out online but the only options are if:

You're a US citizen

You're a US national

You're a green card holder

You have a EAD

And since I can't pick any of these options, I was unable to fill it out.

Best of luck tomorrow!

Thanks for the info. I've seen someone mention I-9 before, wasn't sure if it was another form I needed to fill out, and I'd miss. I'm always scared of a RFE for something i've missed.

Thank you. I'm not really sure how it is gona go, considering I don't have my EAD approval yet.

Hi everyone.  I see some of you applied for that expedite EAD. I already have job that is waiting for me but I cannot start working before I get the card. How can I apply for that expedite? Or it needs to be some special type of work? I did my biometrics on April 20th. Please help.

Since I know the company you will be working and know people who did the job back when they were students I kind of know your salary and benefits. It must be something else why you got approved. I can assure you that those benefits are decent, just average for a normal job. The salary is fair, not even great. But I don't think they could base the approval on your salary or benefits anyways. That would mean that they would say no to someone who without university degree maybe only gets a job that pays $10 an hour but someone with degree $20 they would approve it because his financial loss would be greater?! That's just discriminating.

If this worked for you I would recommend anyone to do that, although I think they still take your I-864 into account. That's why I think you got it approved since your wife is not your sponsor.

The benefits and pay are a good start for me here in the US so I'm happy.

The I-864 thing you mentioned could be true. Since my wife was a full time student the last few years, her annual income on the I-864 didn't even reach a 5 digit number. But our cosponsor doesn't have any problems whatsoever. So maybe they do look at the main sponsors I-864.

I know it's definitely a good start, don't get me wrong! :) I was just making clear that those are normal benefits and normal salary so USCIS can't base it on that.

Maybe that's right. I just can't see handing them EADs out to anyone with a job offer basing it on financial loss. Everyone obviously loses money and benefits if they don't get a job right away. It's definitely interesting though and gives everyone hope to expedite their EAD with a job offer.

does anyone know if it is possible to reschedule AOS interview? I know it is too early to ask, but given the process timeline, it is highly possible that our I485 will be processed at around Oct. But I might have to travel for work at that time period, and wondering if I can reschedule my interview. I know it happens a lot in military, but not sure for civilians.

03/14/2017 AOS package arrived (I-485, I-765, I-130, I-131)

03/23/2017 1st NOAs received (text and emails for all 4 forms)

03/27/2017 1st NOAs received in mail

04/22/2017 biometric letter

05/03/2017 biometric appointment

05/09/2017 case is ready to be scheduled for interview

07/03/2017 EAD card is being produced

07/07/2017 EAD card is mailed to me

You might be better off rescheduling your work travel instead of the interview. You usually get a month or so to prepare for the interview. And to be honest with you, I'd put everything aside to attend the interview unless it's literally a life or death situation. Work can most likely be postponed, going through a rejection and a whole new round of AOS filing is not something I'd want to risk.

Thanks! I saw someone received their interview notice on 5/3 says their interview is scheduled for 6/19. so you are correct about having a month or so to prepare for it.

Most certainly. They even give most people a month in advance for the biometrics appointment. And who knows, if you came on a K-1 visa you might even get your interview waived.

Now I have another problem. ...ehh.....

so on 04/13, I have opened a service request online to request checking on my biometric appointment letter, since I have been waiting for longer than usual. it told me to expecting answer by 05/07. On 04/21, I have received my bio appointment letter and went for the appointment on 05/03. Today, 05/05 I have received a letter from USCIS said they have proved my request (which I never did, I only opened request to check on my case) rescheduled my bio appointment on 05/22.....

I have already done my bio. should I just ignore it or should I go to the appointment again?

have called USCIS and after hearing my case, the representative refused to transfer me to tier 2, since it is "too late" (called on 5:45pm) .......asked me to call back on Monday.

03/14/2017 AOS package arrived (I-485, I-765, I-130, I-131)

03/23/2017 1st NOAs received (text and emails for all 4 forms)
