you just USCIS and you ask to put in a service request, it says on their website that you can put one in after your application has been pending for 75 days with no actions taken

When I spoke with the lady on the phone she said I can't file a service request because RFIE for AOS reset the time for everything. Later that day I tried to file a service request online and it seems to go through.

Form Number I selected I765 which is EAD, and then Form Sub Type is I765 based on pending I-485 adjustment of status. Then punched in receipt number for EAD (not AOS or AP). The rest is straight forward.

I wonder if this system is aware of the filing dates and will deny service request.

I'm on day 76 without RFE and still nothing. 
I don't know if I can put a request since I'm on an H1B visa and therefore can work & travel.
I'm just afraid of the card being approved and sent home while traveling outside of the US since I'd then need it to come back in.
Also, I just wanna know how much longer I'll have to wait because anxiety. 
I'm also waiting for my interview to be scheduled, but I'm not holding my breath for that one.

They did ask me whether my EAD was being filed alongside an adjustment from a H visa.... so potentially you might not be able to, but it never hurts to ring and ask, the worst they can tell you is no..... but the best outcome is that you are allowed to put in a service request

I was able to put in a request on an L visa (brother of h). Though, the L visa expiry is near so perhaps it didn't raise any questions. I would be surprised adjusting from mattered by policy since there does not seem to be any evidence that they should discriminate by law. I hope they do prioritize that way so those without work get ead a little sooner.

I think that the only place to see request statuses online is via 'my uscis' case history regardless of how the request was entered.

It seems to me that if they expedite your EAD, they include your AP as well.

The phone support is inconsistent...

 

My wife filed for an EAD. advance parole and green card on  March 20 (received).

There was an RFE as to her green card request on April 8 which we responded to and was received by USCIS April 25
(they wanted a birth certificate)

 

I called on what I thought was day 70 based on the March 20 date and was given a Service Request number

Yesterday we were told that we were within normal processing time and that the EAD/AP will come when it comes...

 

A second tier lady said that the filing of RFE starts the clock all over again for ALL the filings...

Funny because another lady on the phone at USCIS said something different

 

Bummed because instead of being on day 85 we are back on day 42

(unless she's wrong)

 

The green card is through the Tampa office for processing by the way but I don't know where the EAP/AP is processed..

Day 70 now for us is July 3 and day 90 is now July 24....

Why do people track the number of days, is there an important deadline or number to keep in mind?  And when does the tracking start, from when USCIS received your application?

The response is in the mail. Took mine about 9 days to arrive from the completed date.
